Found these for the 1st time. I know they are not native so someone had some growing from spawn around here. Still no hens but was surprised to see these.

There's a walnut tree by me that lost most of it's nuts in the storm. Would they be ripe? Usually I pick them up after they fall in late Sept.- Oct. Hate to see them go to waste but I also don't want to waste time & effort if they're not good.

Last spring I ordered wine cap & shiitake spawn. Wine caps were spread in a prepared bed & in august they started popping, probably over 100 came up over the next month. Also got 250 shiitake plugs that were inoculated in oak logs. They should be fruiting this year.
