The below instructions will allow you to add TOO as an icon on your mobile phone or tablet just like any other app that you have. (That way you don't have to bookmark the site or type in the URL every time) Don't do this from this page but rather go back to the home screen first. www.theohiooutdoors.com

iPad or iPhone

  1. Launch “Safari” app. This does not work from the “Chrome” app.
  2. Type www.theohiooutdoors.com and Tap “Go.”
  3. Tap the icon featuring a right-pointing arrow coming out of a box along the top of the Safari window to open a drop-down menu.
  4. Tap “Add to Home Screen.” The Add to Home dialog box will appear, with the icon that will be used for this website on the left side of the dialog box.
  5. Enter the name for the shortcut using the on-screen keyboard and tap “Add.” Safari will close automatically and you will be taken to where the icon is located on your home screen.

Android

  1. Launch “Chrome” app.
  2. Open the website or web page you want to pin to your home screen.
  3. Tap the menu icon (3 dots in upper right-hand corner) and tap Add to homescreen.
  4. You’ll be able to enter a name for the shortcut and then Chrome will add it to your home screen.

I did it an easier way...log onto TOO, hit the square box/arrow icon, then you’ll get a drop down box....simply hit save to Home Screen, then hit “add” and it’ll move to your Home Screen just like an app would. On iPads, the squarebox/arrow icon is at the top...on an iPhone it’s on the bottom of the screen.

When added I learned that I can't share threads, or at least couldn't figure it out. I had to get back on Chrome to gather the link.

I only do this maybe 30-40 times a year, so not a big deal. Usually when I start an IKS or want to share an interesting thread interesting thread.

How do I make my phone stop buzzing? I thought push meant that I would just get the icon. My phone buzzes and it is driving me crazy!

The icon is a desktop application. The push notifications are from the forum when things happen like people respond to you or like your post... What your phone does with those notifications is a setting on your phone. You can still receive push notifications without a sound or vibrate. Depends on the model of your phone but you should be able to find it under notifications.

I disabled them in the TOO settings. Guessing I will still get the ones on the bell up top.

You big dummy. :ROFLMAO: You can still get push notifications to your phone where it shows the app icon with a number without your phone vibrating. Mine looks like this in my phone.
