Apparently my Google fu isn't worth crap today. I know this is a long shot but does anyone have a source on parts for Merkel shotguns?

Thanks , I was looking on that site earlier and didn't really see much for parts . I'll get ahold of them and see if they can point me in the right direction .
On the double gun forums there were people who had good luck using their gunsmith services and felt they were very reasonable priced. Not sure if they sell parts direct or not not but an email will answer that pretty quickly.

The gun doesn't "need" anything as of yet , I just picked it up and was mainly interested in picking up some extras such as hammer springs firing pins etc if they were sourceable . I honestly need to do some research on it , just picked it up today and was told it was a Merkel . I'm assuming an older more economy model maybe even made by them but for another company. I grabbed it regardless since the price was right and I've been hunting a double barrel 16 with hammers for awhile .

I'll post up some better lighted pics on the gun porn thread when the wife's not around lol. She already gave me a look when I carried in the case of 16ga ammo and other stuff I carried in earlier 😂

Nice! You might want a gun smith to check the chamber length. Older 16 ga. Shotguns came with a 2 9/16 inch chambers.
I wondered that , the seller swore it was 2 3/4. I should have a smith do a once over on it though. I think I have some 2 9/16 left from a drillings I had a few years back .

So before I went to work I broke the gun down and took some pictures. I'm no expert on double barrels at all. I started looking up proof marks and such and eventually determined it's a Belgium gun and unfortunately it's only proofed for black powder . It doesn't have a nitro proof on it anywhere which is ok still a neat old gun. The hunt continues for a double 16 with hammers that I can shoot modern loads out of for a reasonable price lol
