The weather out there today felt like bow season. My 5yr old, 3yr old, and I checked a one of my ladder stands, put some new straps on it, took down an old ladder stand, and hung a new fixed stand. Late start but I don't get too excited anymore about getting in a stand until later in October. The days of me bowhunting in the early season when it is hot, thick with mosquitoes, and I sweat like crazy are over. Here's my boys (minus the 1yr old) and the ladder stand we worked on first, my best stand. It has produced a buck the last two years. I like that tree you have your ladder stand in, looks like it provides plenty of concealment! Always nice seeing the young ones out.

Not a huge fan of ladder stands, but that tree was made for a ladder stand. Looks great. Keep getting those youngsters out there with you.

The boys and I put two more stands up today right before a heavy rain washed our stink away so that worked out perfect! First stand is a hang-on in a small walnut tree (pic 1) where 5 bush hogged paths converge (pic 2-3). Second stand is a hang-on in an oak flat (pic 5), I've did this setup in the same tree for many years. Hot day for hanging stands, but the boys had fun.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1442715169.688835.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1442715200.118922.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1442715214.729446.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1442715234.253875.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1442715248.330299.jpg

The boys and I got another hang-on stand up today and a natural blind from last year cleaned up. This stand (pic 1) is in a funnel between a bedding and feeding area. It overlooks an old bush hogged road through the woods (pic 2). Good doe spot every year. Then we cut some shooting lanes from this blind (pic 3-4) to the small opening it overlooks (pic 5). The blind is behind a fallen pine tree and is in a ridge saddle between a buck bedding area and mature hardwoods.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1442797043.280099.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1442797058.378192.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1442797073.148967.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1442797089.167496.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1442797101.712236.jpg

Put this tree stand up just prior to opening day, it's in a walnut tree overlooking a hollow and mowed path, usually produces a good buck sighting. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1443842928.668236.jpg
