Adena has released a press statement involving the event:

"CHILLICOTHE (August 29, 2018) – This morning at approximately 0930, Adena Regional Medical Center (ARMC) was notified it would be receiving numerous unresponsive patients from the Ross County Correctional Institute (RCI).

At this time, ARMC Emergency Department physicians and staff are treating and assessing 11-15 patients. With the activity of the situation, we expect to have condition information available later this morning.

The Ohio Department of Corrections/Ohio Highway Patrol and Ross County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause of the incident.

Family members of patients who were transported to ARMC should go to the hospital’s North entrance and identify themselves as RCI family and they will be taken to a waiting area.

Media planning to come to ARMC should report to Adena’s PACCAR Medical Education Center at 447 Hospital Road, Chillicothe. Further updates will be provided as details become available."

Huh...have to wait for details.

Yeah, the Adenia ER is not taken in any new patients at the moment. Ambulances are being directed to go to other emergency hospitals. That's what I'm picking up on the scanner anyways, just a few moments ago...

Hazmat crews from all over the central Ohio area are in route to both the hospital and the correction facility.

Social media is a joke anymore. I can't stand the demographic that literally just hits share on anything that they get a "wow omfg" reaction from without even looking into the source. The 30+ year old female demo is fantastic at this. Idk if it's just the motherly instinct or what but they sure do like to hit share on any story thats "scary" without ever checking facts or to even look that it was their meth head neighbor that typed it up.

The latest update just a minute ago from both the local news media & what I'm picking up on the radio scanner.

States Code - 'YELLOW'

No deaths & facilities are declared safe. No threat to the public. Those currently affected are being treated at Adena Medical Center. Again, no deaths!

Press conference scheduled sometime this afternoon. The correctional facility is currently in lockdown. Something to do with some sort of white substance that was exposed to several people within the correctional facility.

Some one got fentanyl inside. My guess anyways.

That's my guess also. Especially since there were multiple unresponsive and not a one has died. Tells me that a highly successful antidote was administered. To my knowledge such a thing doesn't exist for any food or water borne illness, virus, parasite or disease. Leaving only narcan for an opiate incident.

No one want to acknowledge the fact that this has happened 4 times in PA?

I do like PA’s response, total lockdown. Blocking off mail and everything. Someone will rat...

Sad, I hope it doesn’t trigger more habits. “First ones free” right?

Damn crooks being crooks, maybe it’s time we stop pampering these guys. Our troops don’t get treated as well as these guys.

Guys as a general term, I understand women are just as bad.
