Camping question

Hey everyone! New to TOO! From Michigan but will be trying my hand at public land hunting Ohio this year with a good buddy of mine. The area we’re thinking of going for opening day has a nice campground close by but it’s all booked for the whole weekend. Wondering what the rules are for camping in a wildlife area because we seen some bigger pull off spots out of the way we thought we could easily have a tent there or a pop-up camper but not sure if it’s legal to do that.

Welcome.

WMA do not allow camping. What area are you going to, someone could maybe point you into the right direction to a private campground or other options. No need to pinpoint your spot if you don’t want. Just a nearby town or even county would be close enough.

Delaware will be our main base

No camping on public wildlife areas. Look into the Wayne National Forest areas if camping is your thing. Also check into the former AEP ground, Jesse Owens State Park and Wildlife Area... I believe they have designated camping areas down there... and likely better hunting than around Delaware.

Delaware State Park and Alum Creek State Park both have large camping areas. Plenty of hotels and motels in Delaware and Sunbury. If you're planning to hunt Delaware Park opening weekend, you better get there early or you will be jockeying for position against a small army of archery deer hunters. :ROFLMAO:
