Anyone hunt pheasants at deer creek? My buddy brought his bird dog and we thought about running up there one day.

That’s about 40 minutes from my place. Which means you’re about 40 minutes from Cherry Bend. Which is pay to play.
Maybe someone else can answer, I’m just telling you what I know. Not my thing, sorry.
Deer creek releases pen raised birds, like a lot of the other public wildlife areas... so there may still be some around. Also, if I’m not mistaken, deer creek is one of the few remaining places that has wild birds on the landscape. Obviously but this time of year it’s getting tough to find pheasants, but hey you can’t find any from your living room either. Might as well give it a shot. It’s good exercise if nothing else.
During the Special Archery Hunt that I did at Deer Creek, I can tell you that I seen hunters hunting the public areas around the park just about every time I hunted at the park and most of them appeared to be hunting birds.
That was back during December 9-21.
Thought I'd pass that along and can't really say that it helps or not, but to me, the areas hunted on the South side of the park appeared to be most active at the time.

There are birds there. I just spoke with a guy this morning that hunts it a lot. They are not over abundant anywhere, but enough to hunt. Not a guaranteed kill of course.
We done a crane job in a rock quarry close to there (Brock and Giles may know where I was) We seen about 12 or 15 different birds walking around that day feeding. Was pretty cool to see so many in one area.
Never in my life have I held a gun to anyone’s head and made them drink. You guys are giving me a profile...
