First buck taken in Morrow County. Second year hunting. Worked with a buddy to learn how to hunt. Then worked hard. And got really lucky. I passed several smaller bucks, so I still had my tag. I took him in late January 2018. Fair chase, no baits, no corn pile, just hunting.

Atta boy!!! What a freaking best. Give us a little story please. “There I was...eating Cheetos in nothing but my birthday suit. When all of sudden...” 😂

Buckmasters scored him 214 3/8". 21 points.

It was an afternoon hunt. The snow had just melted from rain and it was about 45 degrees. The deer were out all along the highway in the fields. At about 5 o'clock I saw three does appear out of nowhere in front of me at 50 yards past some cover. One of the does saw me move and bolted, taking the other two with her. About a minute later the buck comes out of some cover. I was surprised he didn't run off with the does because he had to have been right there. He hung up at 50 and was behind some branches so I didn't have a shot. He had a couple other deer with him. They turned and went away. I thought that was awesome enough that I saw the big guy. I waited about 20 minutes and he came right back headed right for my stand then turned broadside at 30 and I took the shot.

Congratulations!!!! Very unique rack too! Whatever you do don’t lose that hunting spot! Area’s where there’s still good deer numbers and where they can reach maturity are really hard to come by these days.

I assume you got it mounted, if so, any pictures? Congrats again!(y)
