First pheasant hunt

Went on my first ever pheasant hunt this morning. My future father in law invited me with a group of buddies of his and we went down to bullseyes pheasant & Duck. It’s a guided type of hunt where they released some pheasants into a few fields and we all walked in a line and the dogs flushed them out. We had 7 guys with us and got 28 birds for the group. We all got a couple shots and had a good time. The owners and guides were all top notch. I’ve never done any type of “pay to hunt” kinda ordeal but it was definitely fun and we have plans to go again. I’d definitely recommend anyone try it out.

Cooked 2 of the birds when I got home and they were delicious! Fiancé didn’t even mind them.

I done this and had a real good time. It really was more "lifelike" once you were out there in the field . The dog we had left a lot to be desired but over all, was a good time.
Glad you had a good time and cashed in on some great eating.

Pretty much the only way to do it in Ohio, I've heard of a few spots that hold birds but not really a clue where. We used to do a pheasant hunt where they released them the day or days before. For the youth season it was awesome, but my the regular opener most the birds were pushed into the woods and tons of guys. Before it was really found out about it was a blast and absolutely loved going after em. Taste dang good too!

I grew up not far from a Sportsman's Club that raised four or five hundred every year. We hunted the bordering Farms and got to cash in on the escape birds pretty much on a regular basis. Was enough to make you wish there was plenty of birds that's for sure.
