It's called "eye comfort sheild" on Samsung and works the same as the blue liter filtering app I had on my old phone before it became a standard feature. Blue light is what really messed with your eyes and brain, so I use one on my phone and computer at all times.

Is there a way to change the color of the white screen when 1st opening the app ? Its quite blinding when waking up in the morning. I don't always remember to turn down the brightness setting beforehand.

No real way from the forum side without me creating an entirely new style. Your phone should gave an auto brightness setting. If it's dark it turns the brightness down and up in bright settings. What phone do you have?

On Samsung you can also set night mode schedules so it flips to a dark theme at a certain time. The blue light filter that Jesse is talking about is also available, and adaptive brightness.
