I have to replace an old camera this year, the time and date wont stay once set, always seems to go back to Jan 1 1970. I would like to stay between $100 and $150 b/c I have a G.C. What do you guys have experience with this year?

I’ve had wild game, bushnell, Spartan, browning and covert trail cams. The Spartan is expensive, so out of the remaining cameras I’d have to say covert is the most dependable. Bushnell takes great pics but they seem to die after two years (they have a two year warranty) and I’ve owned about 15 of them over the years, so I know it wasn’t a fluke.

I will also add this and take it for what it’s worth. My experience was about 3 years ago.

I took the Tasco and a Wild Game cam and faced them towards each other to see what one I liked better. The cheap Tasco took 3 times the pictures, but the quality on the WG was way better. Without searching for hours, this is a pic from the Tasco and you can see the WG on the tree in the background.

Just came in from the beach & saw this. I've been getting e mail advertisements from Exodus cams. My original Lifts are still out running 24/ 7 after all this time. With that said, I've been quite happy with my lower end Moultrie cams for the last few years as well. If I ever buy anymore cams, theyll be in the $90 range.

I do like the bushnell’s. Under a second trigger time and get a year out of the lith. Battery’s. Mine have 5 meg camera and good sound capture in movie mode. That being said, I done seem to get more that 2-3 years out of mine either.

Second choice has been Browning.

I have a browning and I was in a stand and watched turkeys frolic in front of it for ten minutes and the camera didn’t take a single pic. Made me wonder how many pics I was missing. It took quality pics and still works fine but I won’t buy another for that reason.

Deer cams are for deer so.....

I am sold on the spypoint link evo cameras. They take great pics, sends them to your app, and batteries last forever. I bought two last year in September and put lithium batteries in them. One camera is still running on the same batteries and the other one I changed out new batteries in April. Several thousands of photos and went all the way through the winter.

It's all personal preference. Most cams are built solid now just so they can compete. I have used many different brands over the years dating back to the old 35 mm Nontypical deer cam. I will not buy another Covert because of the customer service I received in the past...they have the best battery life though but I have always had grainy pics with them. I had luck with Bushnell's but have strayed away from them. I had no luck with Moultrie or Spypoint...total junk. I loved my Leaf River flash cam...best pics I ever had. Now I run mostly Browning and Exodus because they seem to be bullet proof and the customer service is outstanding. They are also in the $90-150 price range. Tyler uses Stealth and loves them. Just my 2 cents worth that's probably not valued at a penny.
