So my friend has this buck on trail camera in Pa. He has also glassed 2 bigger bucks... What do you think, mid 130's....I might have to go out and see if I can add a PA. deer to the wall...

That’s a good deer for PA. Years ago you’d be hard pressed to see one like that with the brown it’s down mentality. Their herd has improved a lot over the past decade. I used to have a camp on the Potter/Tioga county border. My buddy still has a camp up there. What county does your friend hunt? Good luck if you decide to go.

I'm having trouble zooming in, but I see a main framed 8 with really weak brows. He doesn't sniff 130 after velvet shed. If he has 4s that I can't see then he'll be there, but not as an 8 with nubs for brows. That said, he looks mature and depending on your locale in PA, he's probably still a no doubter shooter.

Definately a shooter for most in Pa.. Best buck I ever shot in Pa. was a basket 8... Shot many of the famous Pa. 11 pointers.... Fury yes they hated Gary Alt when he instituted antler restrictions.... Now his work is paying nice dividends with better deer being harvested.... Jesse you are correct in pointing out this deers flaws, that mainly only being an 8 point and short brow tines, plus short points... That's why I said MAYBE mid 130s, but probably less... Judgement call when you see him in person....

I passed on a deer that look almost identical to this. Nice mature deer. I passed because I was chasing a bigger deer and it was my first hunt of the year. Ended up being the worst 2 seasons of my life and I no longer chase specific deer. I learned a lot about passing a deer like this. So do what you want, lessons in life come in all shapes and sizes.
