Just need DeWine to sign it. I'm sure DeWine wants to veto it but the polls for the primary aren't as friendly to him as he would like them to be.

"Republicans in both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly passed legislation Wednesday removing permitting, training, and background check requirements to carry a concealed weapon.

Senate Bill 215 now goes to GOP Gov. Mike DeWine, who can sign it into law or veto the legislation.

It passed 57-35 in the House on Wednesday, mostly along party lines. The Senate passed it in a party line vote hours later."

This is one of those issues where I'm conflicted as a 2A guy. Of course I like the idea of being allowed to carry without "prejudice", but I don't like the idea of everyone Tom, Dick, and Harry having that ability too. It seems to be working well in other states and as someone who is in WV a lot, I've not seen any reports since they adopted it that would say it was a bad thing. Seems like most who can carry, are carrying and there's not a corresponding spike in people concealing a weapon.

Tom, Dick, and Harry probably have been carrying anyway.

I think it is great. The irresponsible people that want to carry probably already are. Your thugs, drug dealers and trashy bottom feeders. Why not add a few responsible people with guns? It is your right. There will always be Ike's and Earp's.

This allows people to have a loaded weapon in the car as well.

Yup. And just like mask, no one is saying you can't still go get one.

I also think it will help the classes. Someone that will carry now will want to be more comfortable with it. So they will educate themselves. Less ropes and stress when you can do things at your own pace.

Yeah been checked by wardens and one state trooper. Up front out of the gate and all were cool. None wanted to see the gun. It's about complying with them. Wish the people that have the most trouble with them would learn that. You know. Inner city folk lol.

The ones you have to worry about are already breaking gun laws.
