One of our target bucks showed back up tonight on camera, looks like he has been shot. Maybe gut shot.

So the question is how to I find him and put out of his misery. Makes me sick.

Looks like he has a scuff on his back. One of my bird dogs hurt his back and walked around like that He’s better now but he would hunch up like that for a long time. I had a chiropractor come work on him. He’s better now but had a rough couple seasons.

He'll of a buck. I would think if he was gut shot he wouldn't be visiting a bait pile. Like brock said he might have injured his back.
What are the rules for putting down an injured deer, not that I would kill it at night just wondering what the rules were in general

I’d wait till sunrise and go looking. He can’t be moving far. Probably fairly close by hunkered in a thicket.
The rules are sss. But then you have to live with what you done .. not worth it . Let nature take its course. And i walk like that when i jave to shit real bad . That could be the problem .

I agree with Brock and Jack... Back injury, might have been hit by a car.. Also there's no apparent wound in stomach area, hair looks normal... Might be fine in a day or two...
Heard that a guy across the road shot a big deer during the rut and never found blood or the deer. This could be him.

Good luck. He won’t be far. You might sit for a bit and see if he comes in on his own.
Wait for good light and spot him with glass first. Looks substantially smaller in weight from your last pic. Good luck

My buddy Scott shot a buck on the evening of Nov 12th over a corn pile. Upon skinning it we discovered it had been gut shot with a 2 blade Rage earlier that morning. He was in survival mode and interested in food by that evening for healing and energy. He met his demise otherwise would have died from infection otherwise.
