Please enter your qualifying kills here. As a reminder the scoring and picture guidelines are as follows...

Picture Guidelines:

With each deer, please post several pictures of your harvest. All submissions must include the following:

•1 picture of the hunter and the deer
•1 picture of each measurement (a total of 5 - both bases, longest main beam, longest tine and inside spread)
•1 picture must clearly show your tag

Scoring Guidelines:

•Does = 5 pts (spikes less than 3" are considered doe)

•Bucks = 10 pts
Tines = 1 pt per tine
Age differentiator = Circumfrance of both bases + longest main beam + longest tine + inside spread (all measured to the nearest 1/4 of an inch)

•Bonus potential - Participants earn a maximum of 5 pts per contestant with one of the following two methods:

Youth Bonus = 5 pts - taking a youth hunter (under 16) and photographing the hunt
Trail Cam Bonus = 5 pts - harvesting a buck you have on camera

Buck Score Example:

A hunter shoots a 9 pt buck. The measurements are as follows:

•Left base is 4.75"
•Right base is 5.00"
•Longest main beam is 21.00"
•Longest tine is 10.50"
•Inside spread is 19.25"

This buck is worth 79.5 points for the competition (10 pts for being a buck, 9 points for the 9 tines and 60.5 points for the 5 measurements).

Story? Several deer moved under us while still dark. I said 3-4, Garrett though 5-6. Shooting light opens but with leaves on it was too dark to do much. Had a doe very cautious. Wanted to enter woods but wouldn't. Finally had a couple more come in and drag her in with them. Young deer and this adult doe stood too long. It was bright enough to shoot now in the woods. There were a lot of "Don't move. . . . .Okay, if you are ready you can shoot. . . . .No no no, don't shoot. . . . Ok, whenever you are ready. . . ." Then finally she was slightly quartered away. I would have preferred full broadside, but there was a nice sized target offered with the slight quarter away and Garrett put it to her. Double lung shot. Great entry. Exited out the opposite shoulder. Couldn't find bolt. Couldn't tell where it hit since I was video taping, watching shot, it was a bit dark, we were both nervous, and that crossbow is fast. We began looking for blood. Found it within 4 feet. Slowly followed while we awaited Brock and Mason's arrival. Found blood out of both sides and sprayed up on the trees. Still wasn't sure where it hit, but I knew it was a good hit. I tried not to let Garrett know how good the hit was. I wanted a bit of suspense for him. I wanted him to follow the blood trail. I couldn't wait for him to find the deer.

Equal highlight to the weekend? We were buttoning up the camper and preparing the interior cargo so we could hook to the truck and pull out. I look over and Garrett is walking toward me. He reaches his arms out, wraps them around me in the biggest hug ever. He hugged me and said "Thank you daddy. Thank you for taking me hunting this weekend. Thank you for helping me get my first deer." I told him it was all him and Brock/Mason. Brock and Mason set us up right. He made the shot count. I simply did my best to coach him along. He made it count when it was his time to step to the plate. This moment was just amazing. Thank the good Lord for guiding me while guiding my son. I have to give the credit where it is due.

The last picture is Brock's quad. It has a horn on it. They called it the victory horn. This picture is Garrett blowing the victory horn! For new faces, or guys who ignore most of my gibberish posts, this is Garrett's first deer ever! He earned the honking of the victory horn.

Took my middle kid Kody out back on opening day. We sat for the last hour of the day with the spiders. We have some good laughs and he told even one in school about the one on his shoulder that made him scream like a girl. Hahaha! Good times, memories made, no deer seen. That's what it's all about.
