Whatcha got brothers? We’ve had a Panasonic plasma for years and upgraded to a bigger one just because. Went with a Samsung 55” smart tv and it had a dog toy tossed into it. It didn’t take it very well and we’ve been feeling with the black strips for a few months.

Probably about time to start looking into a replacement. Thinking 70” smart tv. The Panasonic is 10+ years old and still rocking strong. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a 70” plasma from them, but they don’t make them. Everything is led or 4K whatever these days. Running on satellite, paying extra for a tv for clear pictures just isn’t worth it because I’m surely not going to pay the extra to them satellite crooks.

Anyways, electronics is out of my wheel house and I’m looking for suggestions here.

I had a 70 inch Samsung led it was unfortunately broken while moving in 2016. We bought a 55 inch curved Samsung smart tv that was on sale as a replacement. I like the smart tv because i do not have to cast Netflix, youtube, pandora from my phone. However i really miss the 70 inch screen.

Another vote Samsung. I have a 55 inch that's probably 10 years old and a newer smart 20 inch in the workout area. Prices have really came down since LG and Samsung got caught price fixing a couple years ago.

We have a Vizio. 55"? 60? 65? I don't remember. Don't care. Big enough for us. It isn't terrible. Has a few little spots where you see a dot. I'm not sure if it is the fault of the TV or if these are spots the kids have thrown shit and hit it. They are old enough to know better but are still kids. My parents would have drop kicked me for shit like that. Guess I'm soft. Need to beat my kids more or something. Outside of the dot or two (which you honestly only see in certain conditions and 95% of the time don't notice them), I'm not impressed with the "Smart" portion. At the time it was highly touted with great computer. Could be a set up issue on my end. I'm not a tech guy. Just saying the Netflix and stuff built in struggles. Lots of buffering. Lots of troubles connecting to internet. Very frustrating if you are trying to stream something. We fixed this by using Netflix through the xBox. Again, I'm a softie with spoiled kids. I hate the xBox. Using it to hook to internet is the only redeeming quality I find in the xBox.

We had Samsung and they were great except some app choices weren't available when I was looking to replace. I am now running all TCL TV's. They are a TV with Roku built in. They have been excellent and a 55" 4k was under $350 @ Costco. The 43" was $299. Each kid got a 32" and they are $138 @ Walmart. $10/full motion wall mounts and done.

Not sure what we have 55 inch I know that I recently had to replace my father in laws 70 inch curve tv because my boy has a fast ball from hell apparently.

Samsung or LG. Get the UHD (4K) and true HDR (for deeper blacks like a plasma). If u want to spend some more coin for the best blacks get an OLED. OLED = no backlight.

55" Smart tv by Vizio. Its an older one, so it no longer supports youtube or amazon prime tv. But the picture is fantastic on it. Wife wants to upgrade, I dont. As soon as the contract is up with Directv in September, we are gonna do the deal with spectrum, where you get all your local channels and select 10 channels to go with it. I think its $25/month or so. That'll drop our monthly bill a shit ton.

We just picked up a Samsung 55" UHD 4k smart tv from Walmart for around $400. So far no issues and it's nice that I can share my Samsung phone to the TV as well. I can go into my pictures or video clips and put it on the big screen lol. The apps are better on the Samsung then the Vizio we have on the smart tv in the bedroom.

We have 3 Samsungs in the house. 60" in the living room, 32" in the bedroom and a leftover 21" from college that is setup in my workshop. All have been great. The 60" is 9 years old and only had one issue, which I Google'd, found the fix and had it back up and running in 10 minutes. When we move later this summer, I plan to get a 70" Samsung smart TV for the living room and will put the 60" downstairs in the family room/office combo to serve as a monitor for the computer/Netflix/Hulu/etc.

Went and looked a little today...boy do they make some really nice ones nowadays! That 75” sure looked cool.
