WGI 360 Camera Review

My father handed over a camera he got on sale last year and hasn't used it yet. This camera seems pretty neat since it should be able to take pictures in a complete 360 degree field. It has a 360 degree sensor and wherever it senses movement the camera spin on a spindle inside the unit to snap the pic. It's a fantastic design idea, but we will see over the coming weeks if it functions well.
Setup: Fairly extensive set up, it features a blue backlit screen when you power it on which is the entire settings menu. I had to refer to the booklet to learn what each setting did, to get it set up for my own uses. So for someone not friendly with technology, this may be a bad option!
For testing, I've set this bad boy up in my backyard for now. I'm not positive if I will move it to my hunting property, depends on what we see. I put it on a bamboo stake up next to the woods and the next day put out some corn around it.

First check: checked it the very next day after dumping corn. Was surprised that I had 3 bucks come through that evening. I'm hoping they were running because the quality was not the best. Could only tell that one buck was fairly nice but the quality was not there to say exactly how nice. Not sure if it was due to the camera spinning 180 to shoot behind, the IR, the deer running or a combination of all 3. I should have saved them to post but I formatted the card and stuck it back in. Will post future pics and continue the review as more data comes in.

Anyone that's used these, feel free to chime in! This is my first wild game innovations camera I have tried out, I've honestly shied away from them in the past.

I won't buy another wild game cam, hopefully yours works for more than one season.
I wouldn't buy one myself either lol. I'm really liking the Moultries, low cost, great image quality and so far they have been extremely reliable.
I forgot to add on my initial post that one thing I didn't care for is these are fairly noisy when the camera spins around. My dog was up by it and it scared the snot out of her when it spun around.

I have 3 of the Terra 5's that I picked up on sale a few years ago. Dirt cheap. Very simple cameras... No bells or whistles. They've worked flawlessly so far. Wish I would've bought 10 of them. Maybe I got lucky.

So I wasn't gonna check the camera tonight behind the house. But then I spotted this guy up on the hill and figured we better check. Quite surprised at what I have in my own backyard.

First couple are phone pics thru the binos, gotta say I'm getting pretty good at it. Not too happy with the nighttime pics. Quality is pretty shoddy, any movement and it's a blur. Daytime pictures are pretty good. I thought I would have had more pictures of him since I stood out there and watched him the entire time and he was there for awhile so I'm going to turn the sensitivity to high and see what that gets me tomorrow maybe.

Heres an update, I'm really not liking the night pictures. The IR is just wayyyyyy to bright and as you can see below it can blur images beyond recognition. I've included a lot of examples to show this. While it can ruin some pictures with this, it can make some cool shots as well since it turns the deer into "ghost deer" and if they stay still long enough not to blur the photo it is pretty neat.

To all those that think it's just terrible to have your dog anywhere near where you want to hunt. Even though this is just my backyard, I take mine evey where and will frequently have deer on camera within the hour after my dogs and I leave the area.

Those daytime pics are nice. Pretty neat how one can covers 360*. Downfall for sure is that IR... I’d imagine battery life isn’t that great either. Still might be worth getting one for my yard...be cool to see what happens under the blanket of darkness.

Yep no complaints on the daytime pics. They're pretty good. I have noticed that even though I turned the sensitivity all the way up the sensor is not that great. Sometimes im at the camera before it picks me up and I've jumped around behind it and it won't spin around and get me.
I'm also pretty surprised at how quickly the deer have gotten used to the noises the camera makes as well. They don't care at all anymore. The first few days they were pretty spooked which I have the luxury of seeing how they're reacting to it since I can check out the back door to see if anything is there.

Post a little update here since we got some hard horns. The youngin with a crabclaw tip, he had cleaned his within the last 20 hours, had a picture of him the day prior and he was still full velvet.

This thing is pretty slick, daylight photos are great. Night time the IR is a tad bright but makes for some cool pics. Surprised with how quickly the deer get used to the noise it makes when the camera spins. All in all it's not a bad unit, I'm not sure how much they are but if you find em for under $100 and have a place that you would like a 360 camera it's wouldn't be a bad option. The door doesn't seem like it's going to stay watertight for many seasons so we will see what kind of life it has. Fairly impressed since this is a company I stay away from.

it's always good TOO see buck come out in day time on trail cam because you'll know they will be out day time. That will get you pumped up.

Sure. Was an exciting Friday. When I headed out to work there were 4 bucks up on this hill just 60 yards away. One was the 14, and for the first time the big 8 with a sticker on his g2 was out during daylight. First time he's done that here and first time I got to lay eyes on him myself.

It's still going strong. Battery life isn't the greatest on it. So it's not a cam that can be left unattended for long periods of time. Seems to miss a lot of pictures as well, since my house is 60 yards from this camera I frequently see the deer around it and am watching them. So I will note times they do different things and when I check it will notice it didn't even capture them there. It's a cool design, but I still think I'll stick to my Moultries in the future when they are around $60-70 for the no glows. This has the red infrared which I'm not a fan of since it's like a steal me flag for trespassers.
