    Cam’s 2022 Buck

Sunday evening Cam closed the door on his 2022 deer season. It was our 14th sit together and one we won’t forget. We have been alternating between a ladder stand and natural ground blinds depending on the wind. We had planned on hunting the ladder stand last evening but changed our minds late in...

    Cam’s opening morning hunt

Cam and I sat up in an area where I have been hearing birds all week long and wouldn’t you know it; not a peep. After deciding there were no birds around us, we made a little move to the north. We got things set up on a bench overlooking a river bottom and let out a couple yelps to have one...

A recap of our 2020/21 ice season

Cam and I ended our ice season with a great trip to Saginaw Bay. We caught a limit of perch each day with a lot of fish over 10” and the biggest just shy of 13”. We were fishing in 5’ of clear water so we could watch the fish as they swam through the holes. In addition to the 100’s of perch we...

    Ryan and Cam’s 2020 Trapline

Not exactly trapping but trapping related in a round about way. Earlier this season, I lost a coyote due to defect in my earth anchor. Last night we killed her on another farm about a mile to the east. A quick recap of the night. Cold, dark, windy conditions when we started around 10:00. The...

    Ryan and Cam’s 2020 Trapline

This is what the remake looks like. The set is located along the edge of a mowed path that runs through a grown up pasture field.

    Ryan and Cam’s 2020 Trapline

With all of the rain, I was aggravated with everything being a muddy mess so we pulled all of our traps 2 weeks ago. On Sunday, Cam wanted to put in a few sets so we got back after it. Yesterday we connected on a yote in a flat set along the edge of a path mowed through a weed field. Today we...

    Ryan and Cam’s 2020 Trapline

So close yet so far away. This was in a remake set where Cam caught a fox a couple weeks ago.

    Ryan and Cam’s 2020 Trapline

Had a rough week last week. After losing a yote to a faulty earth anchor, the next day I had 5 traps plowed up.....Cam and I got back at it today and put a few sets in the ground. Put out the first hay set of the year. Have done really well with them in the past. Usually use them in the snow but...

    Ryan and Cam’s 2020 Trapline

My bad luck continues.....I convinced a coyote to investigate my flat set but he didn’t want to stick around for the party. My wolf fang earth anchor apparently wasn’t crimped properly and the loop pulled out. I did everything right but still lost out due to failed equipment. I will be checking...

    Ryan and Cam’s 2020 Trapline

No yotes today but Cam was happy with 2 big coon. We spent a couple hours this morning freshening up our sets after yesterday’s rain. We added a couple of new sets today as well. We put in dirt hole where we found a groundhog hole in the middle of a bean field with fresh coyote scat.

    Ryan and Cam’s 2020 Trapline

When I mean worked over, A coyote investigated the set. In the flat set, the bait was dug out of the hole and piece of wood drug away from my set. Trap was snapped but no yote. In the pipe set, claw marks where he tried to get in the pipe, trap snapped. Both sets had coyote tracks all around the...

    Ryan and Cam’s 2020 Trapline

It has already been sold. If I get another blonde one, I will let you know.

    Ryan and Cam’s 2020 Trapline

Frustrating day today; had 3 different sets worked over by yotes but didn’t catch any of them. Coyotes won today

    Ryan and Cam’s 2020 Trapline

I forgot to add that he used Mark June’s widow maker bait and windwalker lure on the set
