I don’t like the crank. Mine is acudraw50 pretty much a string cocker that retracts back into the stock when you’re done. Like someone else said just grab the handles and stand up. When you’re done the ropes lock in place and don’t rattle.

I told you mine..............Velocity, Armigettonit (sp) with Rage heads. Never had one NOT pass through and the farthest they went was approx. 30 yards.

t they went was 30 yards.

Been a while...
Jeff's been gone almost a year. I went out a few times for gun last season and passed on around 5 of the 7-8 shots offered as my heart was heavy. Its been around 3 years since I pulled a bow. ( sigh) I'm to afraid of ripping my shoulder again now.

Jeff left me his Velocity /Armageddon crossbow.
350-371 FPS
175# draw weight
110.75 ft/lbs-kenetic energy

He has 4 bolts that I believe came with it and has killed some deer.- 20"/ 125 gr mechanicals.

My question is :
- If I were to buy new bolts, what do I need to look for...
Is there a "spine" type requirement or are decent carbon fiber bolts all rated for these speeds.
- Blood Sport worth it? or Easton FMJ?
Lots of Recurve and compound kills but I can count on 1 hand the times I've shot a crossbow. 10-40 yards kill zone where I hunt.

Feel like I owe it to him to take 1 with it. And I miss the bow season.

I like your thought process here. Good luck on taking it for a walk.

I took my factory arrow and walked into a bow shop. Had them weigh it and check spine. They handed me the equivalent in an Easton. I've always bought the same one ever since.

Thanks Geezer. Got voice mail but sent an e-mail. We'll see.

ALSO- what's the deal with the vane length?
I see 3-4" and 1 "...
I assume its not like the old rule of thumb for recurve/compound ( 1" per 10# )?

Well I played with it today.
Tightened up everything. Replaced the string stops that were shot. Got some new bolts and re- sighted it.I was troubled with 1.5” groups with his bolts so I bought some new ones. Touching veins now...
What a pain in the ass these things are. Cocking that damn thing for every shot wore me out but finally got my 20 yard zero with 100 gr field tips.
