You tackled one goal, what's your next goal?

Great shooting man!

How do you like the swivel option? I've got a few Harris bi-pods and have thought about possibly selling one or two to buy a swiveling one. Just never used one before, so I've been holding out.

To me the swivel option is the great thing about it... Yesterday I was on some really uneven ground and the swivel allowed me to make the shot... Without it I would have had to canter the bipod making it less steady.... Everything I read about pros and cons over the years pointed to the swivel option....

Haven't really thought about the next goal yet... After the long shot I did wonder if I could break 400 yards with this gun lol... I've never been a long range shooter... Up too that point 150 was probably my longest as I just didn't feel comfortable taking those off hand shots.... Not anymore....

Good deal, keep it up man!

I've pretty much been holding dead on out too the distances I've been shooting so I guess asking 400 out of this setup should be an achievable goal.... We'll see what comes a long.... All I know is I'm impressed, and I would of never stated publicly that I'm a long range shooter lol....

400 yards is quite doable. I took a few over the years past the 500 yard mark. But, in all cases it wasn't on the first shot. I used my misses to guide me in for the killing shot. Many died on the first shot in the 400 yard area. Just watch the wind.

Yeah the wind is definitely a factor once you get out too those distances.... The long one got me debating where too hold but when in doubt hold dead on and see where it hits.... Of course during spring we always seem too have that around to deal with...

#6 taken today, 200+ yards, the horses weren't out today and he met his demise....

Saw a large bird out in the field and thought it was a turkey buzzard at first until I looked thru the scope too see an eagle... Out feeding on one of the groundhogs carcasses.... Glad I could help it out lol...

Saw another one on the way home perched in a tree about 5 miles away from this spot....

Always a good feeling seeing these around.... Just don't see them enough in these parts.... But I'll take seeing 2 in a day....

Well #7 fell today, about 175 yards... He was perched on a lay down tree and didn't see him until he saw me... Ran out into the field towards its hole and stopped right before going down it too look back at me... Bad move on his part... Never moved after the shot... No exit wound and pretty mushy inside lol....

To be honest this one is the whole reason for getting the bipod... I'd miss this guy 4 other times at this distance before buying the bipod... I was pretty disappointed in myself up too the point of using the bipod, but shooting longer distances you just need a steady rest and I wasn't using one.... Retribution gotten today lol...

I've really been enjoying this thread, great shooting. I really need to find a farm to hunt them on and put my AR to good use.

Been thinking about using my AR as well but just having too much fun with the Ruger as I've had this gun for 20 years and it's a whole new experience with it and I'm having a blast...

I just picked up a cz 455 varmint .22 LR that I wouldn't mind using on them

I've used my .22 mag Marlin for years... 120 yard shots a lot of the time... It's always fun too hear the crack of the .22 and then hear the round hit it a split second later lol...
That CZ should do you good.... Good luck with it...

Thanks, I look forward to seeing more dead groundhog pics from you.

If I can find, they'll be more pictures lol.... So far I female and 6 males... Haven't seen any little ones out yet either so hopefully the females will make a showing... I'm seeing way more holes in different locations that I haven't seen any hogs around....
