You got this man. Not too long ago a hip replacement wasn't an option. You would have just suffered. When the first knee/hip replacements started the recovery was months and months if not years. They found the issue. They are treating it. You just hang in there and keep your spirits up. It sounds like your only option. You know you have the TOO brotherhood and sisterhood in your cheering section! If you need something, I would put money on it there is at least one person on here that would do what they could to help you out. I wish you the best Tad!

A new day and a new outlook, the surgery dude was in my room this morning and changed the dressing on my incision and said that its looking good and appears to be responding to the antibiotics nicely, He said the team will be back this morning sometime to install the pic line in my arm and possibly remove the drain tube out of my hip, if everything goes as planned and all the stars align I will be going home tomorrow, Sunday at the latest. I would like to thank everyone here at TOO for the kind words of encouragement and prayers. Thanks Don for the kick in the seat of my pants yesterday, I needed it and it definitely helped, Thanks buddy! We still have a long road ahead of us, but we will take it one day at a time and I have decided that this is just a speed bump, gonna slow me down for a few but I will keep right on trucking and put it all behind me in a few months, Once again guys and gals thank you for the comments it really does help

Obviously, this is the news no one wanted to hear and I really hate that you have to go through this.

Though I'm sure it's hard right now, keep your chin up and your thoughts positive. Excess worry is yet another stress on your body that you can do without.

Since laughter is so good for the soul, enjoy the posts and antics in here (have you seen Sam's latest wall mount?!) and go ahead and take Huck up on his offer to sneak in beer. Consider it a bonus chuckle if security escorts him out! (And any video of that would be great TOO!)

You've been in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be.

Love to hear the good news buddy, keep it coming. Things are just gonna keep getting better and it will all work itself out. Great news about going home tomorrow or Sunday at the latest. Don't forget bud, I'm just a phone call away if ya need anything at all. And take that great advice Diane gave ya, laughter is the best medicine and Lord knows ya can get plenty of that around here. And don't be harassing those nurses TOO much either!

Just got done getting my pick line installed, now have a permanent IV line running from my left bicep to my heart , pretty neat procedure, they guide it through there with an ultrasound, they will be coming in here in a bit to do a chest Xray to ensure its in the correct place, as soon as that's done I won't have to be stuck no more, they can do all my IVs , blood draws and such through the pick line, just another step towards going home!!!!

That visual gave me a good laugh! Thanks Diane.

Tad- we are all gonna kick your butt if you don't get video of Huck being escorted out by security for sneaking in beer. Lmao

Tad, I'm a pretty good rigger when it comes too adapting plumbing and different fittings... I can probably rig something up too tee into the pick line where we can setup intravenously a beer adapter too get antibiotics and alcohol at the same time..... Docs may not like it but the hell with them..... lol

Well as long as they get the home health thing straightened out I will be getting to go home today, things are looking good, some IV antibiotics at home and pills for quite awhile but they said things should be good from here on out, the one antibiotic pill they have me on turns your urine a dark orange, little alarming when you go the first time and it looks like your filling the toilet with blood!, but nothing to be alarmed about !

Great news bud! Really glad to hear that. Things are always better when ya can get back to the homestead. Just keep on getting better and you'll be up and going before ya know it.
