Sure is fun, isn't it?! I've gone through a lot of old memories since Phil started talking about "the 78'
I have enjoyed it as well dave. To the top on the MC thread. Dig up old pics of trucks. Good stuff!

Here is one of my wife when we were dating. Possibly the first AND last time she ever did physical labor for our company. Not that she is above it, just not her first choice. This was the 1979 Chevy hooked to the trailer. Old truck was finicky. Every now and then would stall. Turn the key, hold it to crank position with right hand, smack bottom of steering column with left hand, vroom vroom. You were rolling again. Funny part about it- I had nicer vehicles. I had left a 4yr relationship with a high maintenance beeyotch. When I started dating again, I took dates out in the worst vehicles I owned. I wanted them to expect nothing and love me for me. Things have changed since. I treat my wife much better. When we were first dating it was the same treatment for her as any other date. She had to pass the "piece of shit truck test". Drive in that thing with me, and come back for another date. . . Might be worth spending some more time with her. Lmao

Haha, that's awesome! I found a bunch of old pics of my wife and kids too. It's been a fun ride so far. It'll be the weekend before I can get to digging again though.

What happened to the trans am, Jim?

Well... Sadly, I started to grow up and in doing to made plans to move to SW Florida and start a family. Sold the TA to a local kid. within 9 months a buddy called to tell me the kid left the road at a high rate of speed one night and rolled it in a corn field totaling my baby.
As a kid, it wasn't drinking or drugs that kept my parents up at night worrying. It was that car. I outran more cops than I ever got tickets for. lol
I have some great stories and some very fond memories. Even today, my kids run when they see "the album" come out of that car. :smiley_cigar:

Yup. now I'm just one of those sad old men talkin about the old days...
I get tired of defending the raw horse power of the 60's vs. the technology of todays motors tuned w/ a laptop...

You guys have had some great trucks. The only real truck I had was a 78 F150 4X4. I bought it new and kept it for 12 years. I traded it in on a 1990 Escort, yes an Escort. I've only owned sissy trucks since the F150. One S-10 and two Colorado's, all 2 wheel drives. My wife does have an 08 Wrangler. The only thing I own now that has any "wow" factor at all is my 2000 Monte Carlo Pace Car. I bought this new and finally turned the odometer to 10,000 last September. Come spring this car has to go. I just can't take care of it any more, like I should. Car has been rained on a couple times, but never saw a snowflake.

Just the other day I seen a number 3 edition out in the snow. I told the guy I worked with "man, some people would beat his ass if they seen that". Clean car Dick!

Haven't found the Ford yet, but ran across these two real quick. Had to digitize them first lol. Not trying to compete with moundhill, but this is my first buck that I proudly brought back from WV in my Mercury Capri. Don't remember the year of the car, but the deer was taken in 1975. The white Escort is what I traded the 150 in for.

I had bought a new home and my drive from work changed from 4 miles daily to 44 miles daily. Also I was driving 300-400 miles a week in the fall duck hunting. The cost of gas at the time made be buy a vehicle that got better mpg.
I figured your driving habits changed. Kinda expensive to drive a v8 that far.

I've owned lots of vehicles, being in the automotive industry helps me come across plenty of cool vehicles and build some also.

My current 07 Cummins mega, pretty stock for now anyway

94 Suzuki carry 4x4 RHD sprayed in tan bedliner

1983 Ram50 with a mitsu 4cyl turbo diesel

Chopped up ford ranger rough truck and other truck is an 01 7.3 with 55k!

This isn't a personal truck but a pretty internet famous truck that my shop did the body and paint and more on, here it is on the cover of Diesel World mag! I've got plenty of pics of customers builds and trucks if anyone likes diesels and wants to see more!

We must have some mutual friends and live in the same area. I work with a guy that's obsessed with that guy that built that Dodge, and every other truck he's built.
