Update on my neighbor ....

As I have mentioned in the past, my neighbor, who let's me keep a popup blind in her yard, where I kill most of my deer , has let her former stepson set up a tent on the backside of her house. She hasn't lived there for a good ten years I bet. This guy is fucked up. Almost 50 yrs old, he's homeless, works odd jobs ? He's a convicted felon & a registered sex offender. My neighbor never imagined that he would take over the place like he has. His stay was to be short term, but he is set up like a California homeless encampment. She's been trying to get him out, but no luck & she is afraid of him. I dunno why she hasn't called the sheriff. He has no way to get inside the house, but he does use her electric, with a recent huge electric bill I'm told. She always would stop by to mow the place, but this spring her mower broke & I offered to mow her lawn, since she allows me to hunt, plus I keep an eye on things. I never imagined he'd show up after I agreed.
Anyway, for the most part, you never know he's there. Now, he has some woman & a child staying there. He does have children of his own, but I don't know what arrangements he's allowed to have. Last week, there was a loud fight of yelling going on while he had company, so I called my neighbor to come investigate. All the neighbors were tuned in.
Anyway,
I have no idea where they go to the bathroom, probably up in the woods. That's gonna ruin deer travels in that area if he stays. I contacted the dept of health recently, so we are trying to figure out how to exterminate these people.

I'm not an attorney, but I've dealt with some evictions. Sounds like she would have to file an eviction at this point. At least, to ensure he leaves. But it is her kid and she fears him? I don't know. Health dept may not do anything. Have had mixed results with them. Could be county dependent.

No, it's her former stepson. His dad was married to her, they split up, she kept the house & everyone else moved out. The dad died yrs later. After 30 some years, he shows up again, with a tent. So yeah, who knows what will happen. What's really odd is that this dudes actual mom will even visit him. She too has been in prison...lol. Can't make this shit up.

Everything else in my neighborhood is normal, I swear ....lol

I've spent a bunch of hours in a truck today and put more thought into this than I probably should've. Anyways....

I think I'd leave him alone. It doesn't sound like he is a problem beyond the eye right now. One escalated yelling is something I can look past. He isn't messing with you and your property at all. If provoked I could imagine the impact someone could do that has nothing to lose. That is not a place I want to figure out if possible. The deer would be the least of my concerns. Yes it sucks, but in the end, ypu are just a guest on that property as well. Also not a place I would want to put the homeowner. Vent here. Daily blog it. Do what you gotta do but I think I'd just watch him from a distance.

I have been down the road of bad neighbors...luckily, I outlasted them. Tried lots of different angles. Probably should've just minded my own damn business.

One time, about 0130 in the morning I heard screaming. "I F-ING LOVE YOU BI&CH!!!" Followed by some solid punches. Good ole sounds of thuds. I minded my business that night. First time in my life I was able to refrain from besting on a woman beater. I may have even yelled out the bedroom window to hit her again😂. Miserable people.
