Have a great time J. HH is one of my favorite beach vacation spots. HH puts Myrtle Beach to shame IMO. I love riding my bike when I'm there.

Yeah Dick, it's a laid back vacation there.... Little older crowd mostly without all the partying places that come with young ones lol.... Plenty of places too eat and consume adult beverages but more relaxed environment....

Well vacation is in the books, had a great time with the wife and son and his future Mrs... Left a little early on Friday to go up too Augusta too meet his future in laws and had lunch at a very good BBQ place there... Good food and good conversation with some nice folks... They really like my son and congratulated is on a fine job of raising him... Meant a lot for us too hear that from them.... Her father works at a textile plant there by Augusta and has a stump grinding business on the side and according too Mindy her dad does quite well with grinding stumps a lone.... Kudos too him for that....
After lunch we headed to Columbia for the evening, ate at a sushi place and I had the scallops and tried a variety of sushi as well....It was my first attempt at sushi and I gotta admit it was better than I imagined lol.... I'd eat it again if I went there, the wife is a big fan as well as our daughter and have eaten it over the years with me being a meat and potato kinda guy I shied away from it lol.... My son who is a walking copy of me with my wife's sense of sarcasm is a big fan as well lol....
The highlight of the week was the first few hours on the island, I drive too and from there and the wife gets too sightsee and nap lol.... So I get first choice for dinner on the island which will always be steamers restaurant (I love the frog more stew) and that and a few tall cold ones and I'm content for the day lol.... We walked over and had a little wait and did some drinking at a different bar that specialized in margaritas and then went too eat, on the way back we hear sirens and see flashing lights everywhere up the road and the closer we get we realize it's in front of our hotel.... We get close too the entrance and see the emt's performing CPR and my natural thought process is an older person probably suffered a heart attack but much too our amazement it was a teenager that had been shot by another teen over some confrontation.... Wow, now here's safe anymore.... But they did eventually catch the kid and the kid that was shot died and talk about a ruckus on that island....mi guess it's been a while since something like this had happened as the news folk were everywhere for the next couple of days....
The rest of the trip was pretty boring compared too that.... lol....
Spent most of he vacation laying on the beach or the pool and drinking the day away.... Nice relaxing and made no plans other than visiting a family friend for dinner one evening where I was going too kidnap his dog because of how cool it was lmao....

She sure did lol... Unlike me, my wife just keeps getting better with age lol.... I like too think she just wears me out lmao.... But then you'd all know better than that hahaha.....
Headed too the river this morning, made it down there by 5:30 and off we went... We went down too prefish for an upcoming tourney next Saturday and had a decent day, not as good as some but I think we'll be okay if we have the same luck next week.... Had some buddies who will be fishing with is Saturday and they didn't do very well..... One guy has a brand new 20 Triton with a 250 hp evinrude that went into safe mode and wouldn't get up on plane.... Probably an electrical issue but that's a dealers issue too look at.... Nothing worse than spending 70k for a boat and have it fail like that with only a few hours on it.... Oh well, there's an old saying that I like..... Ifn it's got teets or tires it's gonna give you problems.....lol

Not one freaking bit lol.... Benn to the base a couple of times and talked too the guys.... Yeah don't miss the grind at all.... I've enjoyed doing nothing.... I've enjoyed being a househusband, I've enjoyed the fishing, the hunting, the scouting and the general waking up and doing what I want too do....
The wife works, I take care of the house, cook, clean, laundry and yard work.... In between all my outdoor activities....
I highly recommend this too all of you....

Been retired now for three year's... Wasn't my idea though. Worked for a company for 33 years and got laid off. I was headed to Illinois for my annual deer hunting trip and knew they where going to ax around 20 people. Not me I'm too loyal to the company. Came back and got called up to human resource's.. Like getting hit across the face with a 2x6.. Didn't see it coming..Kid's taking over a family owned business and they were losing business left and right.. After all.. the kids have to keep their toys.. Three years later the company was sold. Try finding a job when your 60.. No one wants you.. "J" I'll be heading down through your neck of the wood's soon to check out some hunting land in Carrol and Jefferson Counties. We should meet up for a beer.
I have thoroughly enjoyed following along J. Great to see you enjoying yourself after all those years of service!

The one thing I miss about the military is "the guys". Not in the gay way either, it was like family.
I also took 3 years off work to spend with my family when we first moved here and enjoyed every bit of it! It's crazy how busy a man without a job can be.
