Sitting in the Jeep listening to the woods wake up and glassing the field edges. Hoping to figure out where the turkeys are roosting! I can't see the area I think they are roosting, but should be able to hear them from here. What a way to start my day!

Ended up seeing 5 deer come out of one woods, and 5 come out of another. Saw a huge fat raccoon. No turkeys, but it was a bit windy and the geese were being noisy. Thought I heard some faint turkey gobbles a couple times but no way possible to verify without seeing them.

Nice Curran. Enjoy! I followed thru with taking that second nap. Must have needed it after the last three nights of crappy sleep I guess. Still, two naps in one day? TOO good!

We had a family cook out today with the in laws. The kids wanted to go to the woods and get some shrooms and ramps to add to the dishes. So that's how the morning started, ended up with 20 or so shrooms and a grocery bag full of ramps. Battered the shrooms and fried in butter for an appetizer. Then had red potatoes fried with bacon and ramps for a side with the shish-kabobs. It all was a hit, that side of the family is not in to the outdoors. They could not believe all that came from the woods.

I put my minerals out this weekend and rode an ATV for the first time. Yah, it was pretty cool...

Just finished potting another 80-100 trees. All the hardwoods are in pots. Just need to get the pines done now. The boys also got their summer haircuts today. TOO good!

That's what I'm talking about!!!

No fished were harmed during out outing after supper last night. Plan A & B were already taken up by other people fishing, so Plan C was just to quit driving around and throw a dang line in the water.

Mama Bear even came out with us, making it a full family outing. (she's not outdoorsy in the least bit)

Even though we didn't have much luck, the kiddos still enjoyed themselves... I think they had more fun "releasing" the minnows than anything.

They went home with a couple shells picked up along the shoreline, some wet socks, and big smiles.

Great stuff as always Sean!!!

I killed it this weekend and despite being a little tired today, its nice to know that my list of things to do got much shorter. I got home early from work Friday and managed to knock out all the riding mowing before dark which was a huge help. Started Saturday off with a scheduling meeting for youth baseball. Got back home at 10 and worked outside until the rain hit at 5:30. Cut up the giant cherry tree that blew down last summer and stacked it all next to the fire pit. Cleaned out the building and garage of everything burnable, then burnt up both burn piles and added all the down limbs/brush from this winter. Finished the pushing mowing, then weedeated for 2.5 hours with most of it spent cleaning up the hillside across from our house. Once the rains hit, I went inside and started working on cleaning up after the laundry room remodel. Finished up around 9, pounded a few beers while I watched Office Space, then hit the sack.

Slept in 'til 10 yesterday, then spent an hour weedeating the road bank in front of the house. I was able to seed and mulch all the bad areas in the yard and along the driveway before the winds picked up. The wife cleaned up the landscaping and raked up all the downed sticks and leaves on the hillside, then we burnt everything up. I also had time to edge the back side of our parking area, which made a HUGE difference in the aesthetics of the place. Played 9 holes of golf after that, then had a 1.5 hour baseball practice and finished with dinner at the new Cheddars for my MILs birthday.

Going to the spring game at the Shoe this weekend, so its gonna be a long week!!!
