I'm tired of seeing our brothers and sisters taking their lives.... If any one on TOO are having issues, PM me and I'll try too work it out with you... I'm fucking retired and will drive too your location and have a cup of coffee with you and discuss what's up with the weather if that's what it takes.... Please.... Please.... Reach out too one of your too brethren too get you thru the day.... I'm at a loss for the # of folks taking their lives!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more. Life is much bigger than you or I, but it needs us all. Sometimes people need someone to put them back on the right path. Nothing to be ashamed of, it happens.

Agreed J. That goes for me as well.

The rates amongst our military brethren are astronomical. We've lost more soldiers post war by their own hand than we did at the hands of the enemy.

Js offer goes for anyone. Military or not. If you're struggling pick up the phone. Call someone. Talk about it. You're not alone.

Well done J. Im right there with you, Ill do what it takes to help. There is a local guy that is a veteran and has had to swallow his pride and is asking for handouts to provide for his family. No food, no car no job. So I went ahead and ordered them 3 XL pizzas last week to help them get thru the weekend. He said once he told his wife, she started crying b/c she hadn't eatin in a few days, the kids were happy b/c they didn't have to eat Ramen again. Im still trying to help him get on his feet. Some of us are in a position comfortable enough to be able to help others, I think its our responsibility to do so. But like J said, if you need a shoulder, an ear, or a drinkin buddy to share stories with, hit me up.

I'm not a veteran but that doesn't mean I care any less. I have the utmost respect for all of you that are. I would hate to hear of anyone taking their own life. I know because my 21 year old nephew did so a couple years ago. It was devastating to the family.

Suicide doesn't get rid of the pain it just transfers it to all those that love you and care about you.

For me as well, I'm not a veteran, but respect the hell out of em', fucking hate how our government treats vets, too worried about refugees and making sure boys who cut off their peters are treated fair.

Correct, 22 a day is what we lose to suicide in this country and most folks don't bat an eye about it because it doesn't directly affect their lives.... That is until it's too late and its someone near and dear too them....

22 veterans a day...that are suffering enough to make the ultimate choice. Many more are suffering in the shadows. This is a real problem folks. One that people don't like to think about, let alone talk about. It doesn't make it any less real...

Also, this is just the numbers from veterans alone! I have no idea what the numbers of Americans is, but I bet it's staggering.

I run some pretty crazy hours most days with working second shift. If any of you ever need anything at an odd hour of the night, hit me up please.

1. A lot of suicide occurs in the ages 20-30
2. Most vets who do it are in ages 20-30

If you are feeling down, or even have suicidal thoughts reach out, ask for a hand, talk to someone. As the others have said you are not alone. I have personally lost friends to suicide and it really is heartbreaking. One was a young Marine.

To repeat myself, you ARE NOT ALONE. These thoughts occur and talking about them is the best thing you can do. I pray to God this thread helps at least one person out there.

As the others you can PM me anytime, I am willing to help anyone/anywhere.

I've read interviews from people who attempted suicide by jumping off of buildings or bridges and survived. They all held a common theme. A moment of clarity right after their feet left the ledge. With everything going on in their life, all the things that were bothering them, they could all be fixed or moved past. None of it was permanent. Except 1 thing. And that's the one thing they just did. That's final. There's no fixing that or moving on once their feet left that ledge. They all summed it up as one perfect moment of clarity and immense regret.
