I believe the Amish have a window where the youth venture out and try "normal" life. Then they decide if they want to commit to the Amish lifestyle for the long haul. They have a name for it. I don't remember what it is called.

And in case you didn't notice, lots of these us have had some bad experiences with Amish hunting around them. The rules don't seem to matter to some amish.
