Lmao, got a call from the insurance company today. They proceeded to tell me that it's considered a total loss and the will cut me a check for x-amount. I started laughing and asking questions about what their adjuster put on the report. $13K+ in repairs, $10K in labor. I explained that I think they are being taken advantage of and would like to understand all my options. A salvage title buyback or wait for the dealer to submit their quote to fix and if it comes in under x-amount, we can have it fixed.

I fully expect no more than $4-5K is needed, at most and mostly due to shipping a 12' long piece of asthetic tin. What in the fugg is wrong with ppl these days!?!

That's back when they were built well. Look at that panoramic window!

In college I had the opportunity to do a quality/WIP project with Airstream and was offered an internship. No doubt the best built RV on the road and no wonder they cost $100K.

His business card was different than the insurance company. My uncle in law is our local agent, I called yesterday and asked for them to get involved and provide documentation of our options. Not questioning their expert decisions, especially if they farm it out to a 3rd party. I want something traceable and me fully protected. From what? No idea, it's insurance it's why we pay it and its their decision, but my gut just says something is off. Shall see.....

Well it's a sad day, the total loss is legit. The insurance adjuster quoted having the whole passenger side disassembled and the entire kitchen area removed and take it down to the frame....why, I have no idea. I still haven't received a quote from our dealer, not gonna wait any longer.

So I am starting the process of removing personal items and stripping off accessories to sell. We are looking to build a home so we are going to take advantage of this situation and downsize/simplify. Salvage buyback is an option that I'll extend to a TOO member if interested. If anyone is interested in the camper or anything below, feel free to PM or send me a text.

2015 Keystone Hideout 28BHS (luxury model on NADA)

-$9k with salvage

Accessories (off too of my head):

-Progressive surge protector
-electric skillet
-set of kitchen aid pots/pans
-blah buh buh blah, you get the idea.
