I think I'm gonna sell my compound. Someone talk me out of it! I listened to a podcast today featuring Aaron Snyder and it inspired me to dump the Strother, along with some other surplus hunting gear I've accumulated over the years. The more I shoot my recurve the more I fall in love with it. Someone tell me I'm crazy!

I have all my old bows except the grizzly that blew a limb and my switchback. The only reason I sold the switchback was that I got good money for it. If it was older it would be hanging with the rest of them. I'd sell it and buy some supplies for the recurve with the money. When I watch the old footage of Fred Bear in Alaska I don't see any wheels on his bow plus watched Tred barta shoot a grizzly at ten feet with a longbow so fuck the cables and wheels lol.

I don't even know you any more...
😂😂😂

Yes it's paid for and doesnt owe me a thing. I just look at it like, if I don't have it I won't be tempted to hunt with it. It's part of a new idea I had yesterday that I should downsize some of my arsenal, overall... Trrestands, camo, a bow, etc. I don't know. You guys still have me on the fence!

Jocko would say: "Don't want to hunt with training wheels? Good. Don't." 😎

Gotta do what makes you happy brother. I'm trending in the "simplicity" direction myself. Something to be said for "less is more" when life gets busy. More than that, I have more fun when I'm exploring new grounds and getting back to my roots, so I can certainly understand why you'd want to go this route. They say archery is a journey, so enjoy the next leg of it!

KEEP IT !!!! Unless your in dire straits for money or something why sell it... Sometime down the road you may want to use it for one reason or another... Ever clean out your garage and finally throw something out that you've been saving in case the need comes up??? Then about 2 weeks later you find a use for it and go look for it only to realize....Damn I just threw it out!!!! Sporting goods stuff never gets sold in my house...

I wouldn't do it. You're gonna find yourself needing it someday. A spare bow can really come in handy just like a spare vehicle. I gave away my crossbow about 4 years ago and still kick myself for doing it. It went away to a great cause, gave it to a buddies boy to use but man I could have taken a lot of buddies bow hunting with me and got them into it in the past 4 years. Way different than a compound but still, it will eventually come in handy and you will be like wow I'm really glad I didnt send this down the road.

Every man should live his own journey. Follow your passion and don’t look back. Sell or not to sell is up to you. Blaze your own path and you will be filled with happiness.

As for me, I have all 3 types of bows. Sometimes the situation and area I’m hunting in dictates which weapon I use.
