Another drone recovery

Good friend of mine is on our countys call list for deer-vehicle collisions. He shot me a call saying a car whacked a decent buck in which the deer drug itself into a head high crp field. We contacted a wildlife officer in which she gave us permission to try and locate the deer until she had arrived. I asked her the legality in using drones for recovery and she said its no different than using a dog. I edited a small video. As we watched the deer lay, both his back legs were snapped and his paunch was busted open. It was a horrible sight to see with him still alive. We backed out then got a call the GW was in route, luckily when I went to re locate with my drone the deer had expired. Figured Id share to show the power of drones to locate an expired deer. It's definitely paid for itself.

Great stuff! Too bad the guys who shot the 8-point and let it go on the property I hunt didn't know you. That still bothers me as it was in the middle of an open field.

Here's one I did for another good friend last year. A touch back, liver, we tracked into the night. The next morning he took his german shepherd and blood trailed to an open hay field before it rained.

I believe the law states that you can't have any hunting implement with you while recovering or scouting deer using a drone or at least that's what I recall reading. Do you know that to be the case? I suppose I can look it up again, but I'm pretty sure that's what I read about a year ago.

You might want to check into that cause I'd hate to see a deer taken away from your friend.

Good stuff though, really!
