If they could just have said, "Yes, masks work, and the people most at risk need them desperately, so please consider donating extra masks that you may have on hand" I'd bet tomorrow morning they'd be swimming in them. Lie to people like that and you'll see people squirrel away every mask they can get their hands on. Honesty can be an amazingly effective tool.

Absolutely. If they would have
Trump hasn't ordered any ventilators from GM, despite saying he was using wartime powers to force production - is this a fact Joe

So the way that went down was GM said publicly they would make ventilators. Trump started talking to them about numbers and pricing, Trump didn't like the quantity or price, GM tried to walk away so he hit them with the DPA which forces them to comply with government contract orders. They aren't ready to produce them yet. The government also has about 4 other companies they're talking to.

We are also a service economy and a gig economy. And as @giles indicated, we have a higher percentage of the population working, creating the opportunity for a higher percentage to lose jobs, but it's not exactly an equal correlation in terms of impact.

Wife got a text last night for a co-worker. A friend of her co-worked just died from the virus. 38 years old. Healthy. No known underlying issues. Just dead. Fucking scary to hear especially since my temp was 99.9 last night. Thankfully not a fever, but it had my heart racing.

Most families are two person income families now. Back in the 20’s most homes were single income. I don’t see this having the same damage.
Are you suggesting most homes have two working parents by choice? It will have a greater impact. Those two incomes are mostly out of necessity, and if not, lifestyle creep currently in place will ensure an impact.

In the 20's it didn't take 2 wage earners per family - didn't have 2 cars - big houses - kids in college - and the life style we have now - and a bunch of other stuff so i don't know if it
would be the same or not

These are very large numbers by historical standards, but this is a rather unique shock that is unlike any other experienced by the U.S. economy in the last 100 years,” Faria-e-Castro wrote in the research paper published last week.

Faria-e-Castro’s projection is even bleaker than the 30 percent unemployment rate predicted by St. Louis Fed President James Bullard earlier in the month. He says he arrived at the figures by combining data in two other blogs by Fed colleagues: One estimates that 66.8 million Americans working in high-risk occupations, such as sales, production, food preparation and service. Other research concluded that 27.3 million workers have “high-contact” jobs, like barber and flight attendant, that require them to interact frequently with other people.
Fario-e-Castro took the average of the two figures to calculate that 47 million workers may lose their jobs. If the number is indeed that high, it would bring the total number of jobless Americans to 52.81 million, he said.

It would be worse today. People were more self reliant then. This is not a gig economy or a service economy, it is a consumer economy by definition. Over 70% of GDP is consumer spending. That was also true in the late 20s and early 30s and percentages are percentages from an unemployment standpoint. The non-earner in the 20s was not collecting unemployment benefits nor counted in the labor force or as unemployed.

I’m just saying I don’t think it’ll have the same impact. Many will be making more money on unemployment with these new numbers. The stimulate package for most Americans will also help. Fuel prices have dropped off. Interest rates are bottoming out. This is all temporary and we will rebound much faster.

I'm not a big follower of FOX's Ingraham nor any other mainstream news outlet, but this coverage or non coverage on hydroxychloroquine is something that you have to ask yourself, why is the MSN discrediting it or burying it in late night news?

Anyways,,,

Here's last night's Ingraham show where she interviewed a couple of American doctors that are treating their patients currently with the drug cocktails or combination of drugs with hydroxychloroquine and/or chloroguine, which I believe their message needs to get out to the masses.

This is the whole show, however it's towards the end of the show where the interviews of the doctors take place.

If I or any of my family was to comedown with this coronavirus 19, I would demand that the doctor treat with the hydroxychloroquine, Zpak & zinc tablets immediately!

I can't fully explain what happened to the video I posted this morning, however when I try to find that same interview again on Google, I'm unable to locate it anywhere.

Censorship still seems to be rampant in my opinion.

Well a lot of good yada yada and political yada yada but the fact remains we don't have a NATIONAL PLAN - to fight the covid 19 - we need to have a unified NATIONAL PLAN - many leading doctors calling for a national plan
