The deer for dad

This is story about putting meat on the table.

For years dad was always proud to provide. Today, he really can't. Things have been different the last couple of seasons. It hasn't owed me down. Might have even made me go harder to provide a quality of living for my kids.

I love it, I really do. I try and show people what it all really means to me through TOO and in person. This weekend was about me being guided. I made a plan to kill a deer for my old man and show him that everything is going to be okay. I told @OhioWhiteTails a couple of months ago about my idea. I was going to come up and kill a deer close enough to dads house that I could drag it in the house. Really make dad part of it.

A couple of weeks after that I was trying to think of a slam dunk spot to make this happen. @Redhunter1012 came to mind and I contacted him. He was ALL IN!

Time kinda flew by and the next thing you know, the weekend was here. He took me out and it was nothing like he explained. We fought every everything and nothing seemed to work like it should've. We still kept the grind. With smiles the entire time. I laughed and had a blast. This was the hunting I grew up with. This shit aint easy.

Anyways. He kept telling me these stories about a doe that was really on edge. For years they have been trying to take her out. At that point I was all in. That was the deer I wanted to kill. I'm not about going to a guys place and killing his bucks. This was a meat mission. Target acquired

She freaked out because that's what she always does. She has been a pain in our ass for 6-7 years. Hell, she blew at everyone of our setups the last couple days. Dave coulda killed a beautiful buck this morning but decided he needed another year. He may not get it from me if he presents me an opportunity. This weekend really reminded me how much fun setting up on the ground and getting aggressive with the xbow is. Been quite a few years since I had done it. Definitely gonna keep it in my arsenal. Thanks for the great weekend Brother!
