Must have been a rough rut for'em. I have a TC capture of a buck that seemed to have lost his eye too from a few years back. He had both eyes just before the rut, but not after. Must be a fairly common thing for some those bucks that are serious warriors. I have more TC captures of him with & without his left eye.

They best buck I passed on this year “lost “ an eye a year ago. Or so I thought. It looked bad and lost its glow. As the winter drug on it slowly started healing and getting its shine back. Now you would never know other than a scar on his face that goes from below his eye to under his jaw. Tough warriors.
