Yes sir -- different strokes for different folks - you ok with that
I agree with Geezer.... It's your choice... No one has a gun to your head... Get it if you want, if you don't want it, that's ok with me...

I sure am, are you? You have 10 different threads going about all this and this guy didn't say a word. He voices his choice one time and you slam him. I'm sticking up for him is all. You have a lot of respect around here.

It was not a slam - i agree with his decision - dang do i really have 10 different threads on this - i.m ok with Joe taking them down - i like to base my decisions on multiple sources - stay safe

Lol, it's all good. They all have good information and content. I'm just sticking up for the small guy here. We all have a voice and should be able to use it. Carry on

I have followed along on all of these Covid "vaccine" threads, contributed to most of them. It seems worth mentioning that, from where I'm sitting, the air of grievance coming from many of the folks who are all in on getting vaccinated is palpable. It's one thing to say "it's your business, so don't get the vaccine if you don't want to", it's something else to actually mean it. I get the distinct impression that it is some peoples (here and elsewhere) understanding/strong opinion that the only way for this "pandemic" to end is for EVERYONE to get vaccinated, and implying that if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem, and while I couldn't disagree with that position more, it really is an individuals choice (at least for now) to believe what they want and proceed accordingly.

our general practitioner/family physician of many years who has been a practicing MD for 25 years flat told Nancy directly to her face (and me indirectly as she is my doctor, too) to not get this vaccine any time soon. that is powerful testimony that backs up my own intuition, so, I'll go with my doctors orders, not the hyped up, sensationalized pressure from government, regurgitated day and night on every propagandized media outlet, to get a largely untested vaccine when I do not need it.

it's a personal decision no matter which way you go. peer pressure or popular wisdom should not be part of anyone's choice when it comes to something as important as your health.

Thanks, I can feel it. (I had to ask my wife what that word was, lol) This is how I feel as well. I just don't know how to deliver.

Cleveland Clinic Hilcrest North Campus where i got my vaccination had a super setup. Parking lot layout so no jam ups. Walk inside and immediately processed and given shot about 8 minutes. Given a card and told how to schedule your second shot. Then directed to a waiting area with spaced out seating and given a timer set at 15 minutes . When your time expired with no reaction you put your timer in a pan and were done. Everything one way traffic. They had a crew wipeing down the chairs and timers and someone working the doors. Smooth - very professional. They were doing 100's of vaccinations. Had second shot appointment scheduled that afternoon. Btw every one masked.

As a teacher, I am scheduled to get it in a couple weeks. Very mixed feelings. I am by no means an anti-vaxer, but I don't get the flu shot, and rarely get sick. I taught elementary PE for 6 years and believe I am immune to everything after teaching in that cesspool. I question this vaccine, but also feel like as a mid-30s guy with no health issues, my vaccine would be better suited for my parents. On the other hand, my wife and son are high risk and I go to school every day (and yes, I know the research says it isn't spread in schools, and I used this argument with my wife, and am a huge supporter of schools being open fully) so I am doing it, reluctantly because of them. For them, I think it is a psychological/comfort knowing that I have had it. I am a walking hypocrite, I know.

Yes I understand - I would have gladly given my vaccine to my son or wife but they are doing it by age for the general public. Hope everything goes well for you and the family

So the choice is either get the vaccine and be able to fight covid better or fight covid without it. Vaccinated or not we are still going to pass it around reguardless correct? Not sure why they are pushing it so hard for the healthy population. So this could save a lot of at risk people's lives I get it, but everyone is still going to get it. We weren't going to get the shot anyway but covid came 1st to our home before a chance to get it. We think it's is spreading through my wife's school at the moment, johnny44, they r trying to keep from shutting down with quarintine but it's not looking good.

The biggest reason for the "everyone needs to be vaccinated" push is the shot has not been shown to protect individuals who haven't gotten it. Meaning a person who has got the shot is not a barrier to transmission. Traditional vaccines slow or stop the spread by providing immunity, that immune person can't contract the virus and pass it to their contacts. If I have a flu shot and I go to work where everyone has the flu I will not get sick and bring it home to my family who did not get the flu shot. The covid vaccine doesn't really do that. I can still bring it home to my family. In some ways, it's worse actually, as a therapeutic I can bring it home and never know I have it. One of the huge reasons for the push is the vaccine has great potential to create what they freaked out about at the beginning of the pandemic "asymptomatic spreaders". Remember when they were going all crazy about asymptomatic spreaders and how dangerous they were because these were people with no symptoms who could avoid precautions like temp scans etc. Well now we know that approximately 45% of people are naturally asymptomatic. The biggest question is why are we demanding that " everyone" get the shot, when most people are in no danger.

It can spread in schools and children can get it and spread it, by in large they just don't have symptoms. In essence they act like a population who has already received the shot. You getting it will provide some protection to your wife and kid depending on how you look at it. It will not prevent you from getting covid, but you will most likely get very mild symptoms, if any at all. The benefit to this is your viral load will be less, meaning you should be less contagious. The downside to this is you may not know you have it and won't know to act accordingly. Considering 45% of the population is already like that it must be a risk the government is willing to take. The real benefit would be your wife and kid getting it since they are at risk, but thanks to teachers unions some of the available shots are being prioritized for an occupation instead of for a need.

BTW - I have 6 doctors at the Cleveland Clinic, one of the top hospitals in the states, they all got vaccinated - one of the things that makes the clinic great is that the doctors are able to collobrate on a daily basis and stay on the cutting edge of medicine.
