Thought I'd detail our property and the progress I've made over the past 8 years. We bought 84 acres with a house that was a total loss. I was going to pull it over and burn it. It hadn't been lived in for over 40+ years. Animals had taken it over. Got to poking around in it...tore off a cedar board and low and behold, behind the walls was a log cabin. Well I got a wild hair up my ass and made a commitment to restore it. Exposed the rest of the logs and they were all pristine. The foundation was gone on one side and the corner missing. Had to build that all back. Put a new roof on it, Sandblasted the logs, put in new windows etc. I had to have some of the work done like the roof, chimney, and sandblasting....I'm not that good...but the rest was all me and some buddies. Took 8 years and turned out way better than I thought. I don't have water so I use a rain barrel and an on demand pump with a small hot water tank. I have a composting toilet that I can go a year without emptying. I can't begin to tell you what this place means to me and my wife. Pure bliss.
