Sooooo… with fuel prices climbing, when will they start giving trucks away like they did it 2008-2009? Asking for a friend…
I was hoping they would have stated before I got mine. That didn't happen. I'm really shocked the V8 market wasn't and still isn't flooded with vehicles people are dumping because of gas prices.

I honestly don't see anything changing in the near future. Even with the outrageous gas prices the chip shortage is the bigger factor in my opinion. Once they start getting a supply and get an inventory of new trucks they will start to come down. With the limited supply of chips and only filling orders that are current I don't see a change coming anytime soon.

I think you touched on what I foresee. Made to order vehicles in the future. The days of having millions of dollars sitting on a lot are over.

My buddy just sent me his comparison of our two trucks in terms of cost to drive with current fuel prices. It's a wash between his diesel with higher MPG over my gasser, both 3/4 tons. Was literally within pennies of one another now that diesel is so high. Cost him $128 to fill up today
And cost him an extra 10 grand to purchase.

And additional oil, more expensive oil filters, fuel filters. . . More expensive to maintain in general. And when they break, they don't break cheap. Stupid emissions stuff almost guaranties you will have dealer addressed repairs in your diesels before 100,000 miles. I'm replacing one of our diesels with a gasser right now. Just need the time to swap the plow, fuel transfer tanks, etc.

This spring/summer is when we agreed to upgrade the wife's vehicle, a 2103 Chrysler T&C van approaching 150K.

A friggin Hyundai Palisade spent the night in the garage last night. A Durango, Explorer, Traverse, Telluride and a 4Runner are hopefully all in her test drive bucket. Dead set on 3 rows and not a mini van.

Is this the feeling ya get when you have daughters and boys you don't like come over, or when one spends the night for the 1st time??.....not a fan of it.
Any more to add?
