2022 Shed Hunting

That one shed rode his ass out of the frame. Lol
Got some work done around the house then went to a farm I hadn’t walked since 2/9. Had best day in quite awhile. Found 3 right sides, 2 small freshies and one year old that got chewed to hell and back, lol. Found some fresh rubs and scrapes unfortunately which is prolly why many bucks are still holding. Fuggers are out there still high on testosterone and breeding the many does in our area! Lol

I had another great day myself. Walked 7.5 miles and found 3 right sides and one left but finally matched up a set for the first time this year. They were in two different wood lots 450 plus yards apart separated by a huge barren bean field. Found 2 year old sheds in the field that weren’t there 2 weeks ago so either yotes or dogs prolly dropped them there since then. Damn critters chewed the tips off the left side of the matched set though,
Found a dead skunk and the biggest cedar I’ve ever seen. I walked past it for years but finally though it deserved a mention. Lol
Mine killed the mole. Then chased a squirrel up a tree for good measure….Mine licked her ass...
First time out. Would like to find the bigger ones but I will take it.

How many you find so far? Are you having a normal year or is it up or down?
I’m not quite to my average # yet of 16. The most I’ve found was 26 and least was 10. I’m sure I could do better if I had more access but it’s tough to gain it in my area. Farmers are pretty nice and likely will let you but there’s a lot of properties bought by rich city people that only let the farmer and his hands to plant and harvest on their land and no one else.

What’s everyone else’s tally of sheds so far? I use to keep track here and ran my count with each shed but stopped when I was struggling to find them a few years back. I’ll try to get back to doing it IF I don’t forget, lol.
