Ok all so I can shoot 30 yards in my basement. I want to setup a range there - and I want to make it nice. I’ve looked all over the net and I haven’t found a backstop I love yet. I’ve considered building something.

any tips?

Mine is a Morrell Outdoor Range Bag stuffed with the styrofoam blocks that TSC gets with their trailers when they're shipped in and a NockOn Morrell bag.

Oh, and that guy. Don't worry about that guy 😂

In general, as long as you're not over-bowed, you should be able to put your pin on the target and push/pull straight back to anchor. If I miss this at 20 yards, it was a massive FUBAR like the trigger punch you see above.

Al, don’t know what you’re leaning towards but check out Bulldog targets. I have a neighbor that has a similar set up in his Morton building. 30 yard single lane range with that companies targets or foam pads for back stops. Seem to work pretty well for him and he loves it! He has a series of targets set up like a wall that he essentially glued and framed. They aren’t cheap but they’re very nice targets. Are you thinking netting or actual foam targets or what?

I was thinking foam target. I’ll check these out. I’m honestly just open to ideas at this point.

Another option. What about the target video screen. Can't remember the name but Rt.53 rec had one back in the day. Was pretty fun to hunt different species.

I did see these but man I think they were like 3500. I am tighter than treebark - I am more likely to have a mattress down there to shoot into! HAHA all joking aside, maybe someday!

Anything you suggest when it comes to archery - I basically just say "take my money" - haha!

How heavy is it, could I get them down a basement with one buddy (built like an ox)?
You could move it to the basement alone with a two-wheel dolly. They are not terribly heavy but they are very resilient. Our has been sitting outside for two and a half years, catching arrows probably 300 days a year. I’ve never had a target last longer. For perspective, Mason and I destroy most bag targets in a week.
