For you fortunate souls going to Strouds, EHD hit the are very hard this year. Hunting isn’t about killing, but any of you folks that want to hunt, you would be better served to carry a squirrel rifle than archery gear. Mrex said there are five EHD victims within 200 yards of the camp.

I remember when EHD slammed Vinton county around 2008 and the next year the ODNR gave out $15 tags like candy and had a bonus gun season. Ole Rex was firmly on the side of the ODNR backing Tonks decisions. I clearly remember him stating there were "so many deer on his ridge in Athens the 101st airborne couldn't wipe them out". That attitude was the leading reason we chose Strouds for the annual fall hunt. Per what Tonk told us at strouds, hunters don't have enough sense to see the big picture. We don't usually kill many down there, but I don't see a reason to change our behavior. If the ODNR was concerned they would let us dumb hunters know and change the regulation, until then we should just kill with wanton disregard to what our eyes tell us because odds are we're wrong and can't see the big picture.

Where coonies green smiley when you need it. 😅.

And he said we couldn’t kill them if they weren’t there. I remember. Valid point. I don’t have a solid argument against your view.
