I’m a longtime follower and haven’t posted much but would like to formally introduce myself and hopefully make a appearance to the next Strouds. I was born and raised in Ashtabula County where most of my family reside however moved to East Tennessee for work. Would love to get back home however might be turning out that way in the near future. Something about Ohio is always home to me and I own some land in Adam’s County which I’m slowing building a cabin on and have enjoyed chasing some big bucks there as well as implementing food plots and habitat. Also enjoy taking by 8 year old boy out hunting and just enjoying the land.

Yeah I love it there and try to get up that way one full weekend a month and more definitely during hunting season with some vacation time. Unfortunately a lot of the industry has left (coal power plants) which has affected the surrounding area however not the deer! Actually had multiple pics of the 239” monster that was taken in 2020. Looking forward to the season this year and planning to hit it hard next weekend as weather looks great as well as following prior years trail camera history and appearances.

I live in Oak Ridge which is just west of Knoxville. I call her the Campbell Cabin which is really more of a small home where I plan to retire. I bought the property in 2019 which included the cabin that was constructed approximately 20 years with structurally insulated panels (SIP) and nothing inside was finished. She has a strong foundation however had to replace the roof as well as most of the rafters (spliced boards between panels with leaking skylight), utilities brought up to it, as well as everything else you see with a lot of hard rewarding work, etc…. Has been great to work on with my dad and uncle and obviously couldn’t do without them as I look up to both of them and try to make the most of the memories we have from it. Gradually will be working on the inside to get that cleaned up and finished with hopeful plan for a wrap around front porch to finish her off with.

Man I love that picture of that chocolate racked buck. Looks kind of like a muley.
Yeah I have a history with him starting with my son and I just about 3 years ago when we were in a blind watching him coming down a ridge. He got about 60 yards from us and must of winded us and hustled out. My son was 5 at the time and the first time I took him hunting which set the hook. This is the year and we call him Flames
