A member posted a picture of himself in high school in his football uniform posing for a team photo on social media. I really enjoyed it and seeing the comments from his former teammates. I am now watching Sunday baseball and they are showing pictures of player in their youth. I would like to see pictures of members from their high school sports glory days, action or formal portrait.

Sent me on a mission before headed to bed tracking down a HS sports photo of me. Had to join classmates.com to find one quickly, and I do have others stashed away someplace around here somewhere.

Anyway, 1983 varsity Redmen Baseball ⚾️ Team photo. I played a lot ball back in the day.

No doubt in my mind that team sports were the heavy chisel used to shape me into who I am today, and they will do the same for our sons.

Cracked open the tote in the basement, hasn't been touched in 2.5yrs since we moved. These were on top, I need to dig out the scrap books and sit down with the boys now. Holy flood of memories and emotions...football and track in HS, lots of others up until then.

Like Adam, I had to open a storage tote in the basement that hasn’t seen light in several years. What a trip down memory lane.

The picture of me in glasses is a funny story. I was scheduled to start on the mound that afternoon against one of our conference rivals. It was a big game. I don’t remember who had what record going into that game, but it was a big one. @Bigcountry40 if you remember, Matt Maloney was on that team. He got one of their few hits against me that game, sending a line drive up the middle at Mach 7, almost taking my head clean off. Anyway, earlier that morning while in class, one of my contact lenses ripped. Knowing full well that it was my very last pair of lenses, I was in full panic mode. Thankfully I still had a pair of eyeglasses from 5th grade that I held on to. They barely fit my head, and I could barely see anything. I couldn’t even see the signs from my catcher. He fought for his life back there all game as I tried to decipher his inside leg taps. 😂. Got the win, hit a homerun that bounced off of Route 6, and had a go ahead sac fly. Not too shabby for a half-blind kid. 😂 (Disregard the cheesy sticker… mom made the scrapbook, not me. Lol)
