    Looking for a decent gunsmith

Progress report. I finally got new hardware for the shotgun and put it all together. All it took to tighten the receiver to buttstock was to add one more washer to the tang screw. Im thinking of stripping the finish off and applying some new stain. Its not a collectors piece so I wont feel...

    Looking for a decent gunsmith

Will do! The internals don't look terrible, just need some oil. There was a washer on the screw, I think I will add more to see if that will help with tightness of receiver to butt stock.

    Looking for a decent gunsmith

I sprayed some pb blaster in and let it soak for about 6 hours and that screw came out with little effort.

    Looking for a decent gunsmith

Thanks for all the advice! Im trying to find my PB blaster but its hiding at the moment. I have never personally used that method of the wrench on screw driver but I have seen my father do it plenty of times. But yeah the tang screw is my biggest battle right now. Iam looking forward to...

    Looking for a decent gunsmith

I can agree with it not being worth the cost. Its just something I want to get up and running. Im applying some some oil to loosen the screw. Thanks for the input gents!

    Looking for a decent gunsmith

I recently picked up a JC Higgins 101.1 sears, roebuck shotgun. 12 gauge break, 2 3/4 shells. Barrel is 30 in, overall length is 45 1/2 in. The gun looks fine, but functionality is iffy. Id like a gunsmith to take a look at it and separate the butt stock from the receiver and reattach...

    ak 47 gunsmith

I'am aware that the easiest route would be to buy a complete ak and cheaper in the end. It's still in the back of my mind. I'am a huge fan of classic and have done business with them. They are wonderful. If I do go with a build it's more of something I can say I put together for the most part...

    ak 47 gunsmith

Next month I will be moving to new Olmstead, I plan on over the course of my time there buying ak parts piece by piece. To assemble it requires an array of tools I don't have the money or space for. So my next option is to buy the pieces and what can't handle I'll have to get done at a gunsmith...

    soon to be new resident

I look forward to attending in July if I can. Any idea of where it will be at yet? I don't know much about crossbows, always thought they were reserved for older folks and the handicapped. My uncle owns an archery business, I'm currently asking him a boatload of questions. I'm currently looking...

    soon to be new resident

I have never gone turkey hunting, not much interest in it. I have never played with or even though of getting a crossbow haha but ill look into it. The 45-70 is definitely a want but ill buy a shotgun before that. I found a norinco 870 clone for less than $200 on classic firearms im itching to...

Thank you for the warm welcome and your support, its much appreciated. Looks like I will be picking up a nice 12 gauge or that 45-70 lever action I've been itching for. There are black bears indeed in northern wisconsin. I have not shot one personally, I was too young. My father had a big group...

Hello everyone. I will be moving to Cleveland this May, I'am eas'ing from the marine corps and will be attending Ohio tech in their welding program. I'm here to get more information on hunting in the area and state. I grew up in Wisconsin hunting whitetail, bear and raccoon. I have 4 rifles...
