    Crossbows...

Try it at 60 with no rest, like you would be in a hunting situation, same as a compound. They are not any more accurate than a compound. And are a lot louder and heavier. Don't get me wrong, I am all for them, but after using one all last year, I am going back to the compound. Good luck with yours.

    Safety Harness

Black Diamond vario speed harness. Comes in at just under 1lb. I am no expert though and am sure there are better ones out there. It came highly recommended from other hunters with similar needs as myself. This harness is also especially helpful for hanging stands. I use a lot of hang ons with...

    Safety Harness

I switched to a rock climbing harness and will never go back. Ever try hanging from a hunter safety harness? If you do fall, a rock climbing harness is a lot more comfortable to hang in, and a lot easier to self rescue with. They are lighter and do not get in your way while hunting either. A lot...

    Coyote impact opinions

I hear people talk about these cameras on coyote dens all the time. The funny thing is I have never seen a picture posted backing the statement up. I would love to see some pics of coyotes bringing fawns back to dens. Somebody please post some.

    Coon Proof Deer Feeder

I figured that would be the reaction I would get. Just trying to share something that has helped me, and could possibly help others. I guess some people are just afraid of anything that is different, not me, I welcome it. And having different hunting strategies and developing my own style of...

    Coon Proof Deer Feeder

There is one guaranteed way to save your feeders, get rid of them and quit feeding corn. I did it years ago, and have had much better success since then hunting terrain features and natural food sources, and a lot less aggravation.

    Doe sounds

I am not so sure that is the deer in the frame making the sounds. Could be a young buck grunting or a doe behind or in front, out of range of the camera. I could be wrong, the volume on my computer is not the best right now.

winners of the Code Blue photo contest are.......

Guess nobody wants mine. Sending my info along to matt. I was going to give it to my buddy whose cabin was in the picture, but he hunts only in VA and they made all deer pee illegal in VA starting this year. They say deer pee could spread CWD from pen deer to wild deer.

winners of the Code Blue photo contest are.......

Cool. Except I already bought my 1 vial of doe pee for the year. I don't use scents much. I would rather give it to someone in need. If anybody on here needs my prize package more than I do send me a pm and I will coordinate with matt to let him know who is taking mine.

    Taxidermy

Here's some of my better public land bucks. 2 from OH. Shoulder mount is one I caped out. Told you I like to keep it simple, and I like the simplicity of a European mount and being able to do it all myself. And I know, my mounts are not award winning quality, but they are all I need. Now...

    Taxidermy

Just filled 2 doe tags. Did pass on a couple bucks last evening and had 10 does in bow range. Things are starting to pick up in the woods. Cold front this week should kick it into action. If I get time will post mount pic, I am elbows deep in venison today, making jerky.

    Taxidermy

Sorry, I have been out filling deer tags. Forgot about this post. I don't have any mount pics to share, they look good to me and that is all that matters. I try to keep mine as simple as possible, you guys would not be impressed.

    where would you hunt?

If I had those three choices I would probably find my own spot following sign and looking for a terrain feature a big buck would use this time of year. But you can't let other people tell you where to hunt, you must pick the best spot using the knowledge you have. Otherwise you will just second...

    Good fight pics.

Tis the season. Now all we need is some colder temps and things will start heating up! Can't wait.

    Slicktricks

Shoot whatever is most accurate with your setup. It used to be slick tricks for me, now with my new bows it is muzzy 3 blade. Just depends on you and your setup.
