My pal, Casey and I ran down to Kentucky. We weren’t there to mess around with henned up gobblers. We were there to shoot a couple “easy” birds. We are going back tomorrow. Hopefully a repeat of today but the odds are not in our favor.

First three yesterday. Today I shot the Assenheimer. I didn’t snap a pic but I just shoot it better than the Widow. Should have snapped a pic... for a few minutes there I was my own hero.

I’m a fan of leaving as is. There is plenty of opportunity already. Saturday of gun week sees a good bit of pressure, but Sunday is void of hunters for the most part. If folks really needed more weekend time to gun hunt, they would be utilizing the Sunday(s) of gun season(s)... and they do not.

Saw a solid 145-150 as soon as my butt hit the seat. He looks young, but if comes closer, he's as old as he's gonna get! Took a pic but can't post it from my phone.

That is a shame! Hate to see things like that, and really hate for non-hunters to see it.

Mason and I only saw two bucks. One of them was the 8. No shots at either deer. Kinda slow up there right now.

Mike, they did that study in the mid- 90's, correct? That was when seeing a coyote was still a novelty. I would venture to say fawn mortality is far higher than 1 in 3 today!
