My dad dropped his deer (his first archery deer, 8-pointer) off at a processor in the Athens/Washington county area. He was told by the owner they hadn't even hit 100 deer processed so far this year.

Oh my gosh, there was an annoying one at a station I used to use a lot close to our last house. It was some "celebrity" who kept saying "try my banana coffee smoothie!" I was so sick of hearing about her damn smoothie. :LOL:

We got a decent frost just outside Athens this morning.

35 degrees in the hills near Athens this morning. I want to see that first frost so badly to know this junk is over for the year.

I googled fly strike since I didn't know what it was...now I'm wishing I still didn't. :oops: Our fly bag traps were basically full in 4 days (2 bags on our deck). I tossed them and bought a reusable/refillable trap from Rescue. It's already catching them in large numbers in the first 24 hours.

Listed at 45@28". I have no scale but it feels about right and the arrows I shoot from my other bows of similar weight shoot fine from it. This is our first year at this house, but the last house was only about 8-9 miles away so it's not like a really new area. We had one random year at the last house that was similar to this. Now I wish I could remember if it was a bad EHD year.

That's my current approach, as well. I've decided I'm not shooting a doe for sure until after we've had a frost and see where things stand. Got some bucks on camera I'd love to stick but I'm not blowing stuff out right now with this hot weather. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
