    Advantages of Traditional Hunting

Yeah but in 10-20yrs, what will that $1000.00 piece of laminated wood be worth against a flagship model compound of today? You'll be lucky if anyone would even look at that compound while that recurve will have retained most of its value.

    Advantages of Traditional Hunting

Uhh yeah it did go way off of topic. All it took was a select few self righteous posters proclaiming the"we are all brothers" rhetoric to steer this thread way off course.

    Target panic!!!!

Thats what i do with my hunting recurve and longbow. If I tried to shoot a bunch of arrows, I would just tire quickly and get sloppy.

    Advantages of Traditional Hunting

Well you know, I read this study on current trends on treating opiate addiction and... OH, wait a minute. I'm off topic, just like everyone else:smiley_depressive: Really, if we can't have an objective discussion over equipment without having the "elitism" accusation for every other post, then...

    Advantages of Traditional Hunting

I'm kind of at a loss as to why posters here are getting defensive about what I posted. Simply stated, there are some real advantages a trad bow has over a compound bow. I said nothing about the character of the user. Nowhere did I say that compound users or whoever are lesser people. I'm...

    Advantages of Traditional Hunting

I'm sure there are some trad shooters who think they reek nothing but of purity. However, I can't help but think back to the days when I was single and shooting 3D with my Bowtechs. I shot alone as I had no partner. Never once did a group of compound shooters invite me to shoot with them. I...

    Advantages of Traditional Hunting

It's the season where the archery forums are full of distraught compound shooters who can't get their bows tuned or have some sort of equipment failure. They laid out well over a grand on their setups and are faced with either running to the proshop or buying an expensive press to work on their...

    Tampon deer lure

Tried it. Saw squirrels. Wrong part of the "cycle" to attract anything male.:smiley_depressive:

    Traditional Hunting this year?

Going out this year, but will have a recurve in my hands instead of the longbow. Picked up 54" Fedora Sickle recurve, about 43lbs at my 24.5" drawlength. Sweet little bow that spits arrows out pretty quick. Planning on using Axis 500 shafts and Wensel Woodsmans.

    What's your crossbow setup?

I have a Barnett Ghost 400 with a crank cocking device. I use Spitfire broadheads. As for Barnett having poor customer service, that has not been my experience. I had the bow's scope fog up on me and Barnett had a new scope sent to me within a weeks time. They didn't even ask me to return...
