I have been in solid hog territory in SE ohio but it was mixed public private leases. Worked with a Gov researcher who was tracking them to try to pin them down. Lots of sign but never a hog. My guess is they are largely nocturnal and skittish. Plus we just don't have a huge population thank...

Cool. He was mildly aggressive. Thought maybe an odd garter he had stripes the length of his body. Moved him to the stream. Seen quite a few of those this year.

I'm in North pickaway county near a stream. These little guys keep showing up. I know he is not poison but can pin down the type.

I have one and it does a good job. So far the user is the problem. I have used it here and in Wyoming. It's loud!

Amazing day. 30 or so elk 20 mule deer. Everything was spooky though. No pics other than some sunsets. :( Heading to Dogtown's up north in the morning.

Quick trip update. It is dry as a bone out here. Overall animal population is way down where I am. Did see 4 Mule seer today and hat a great stalk on them for my buddies bow tag. Hat a young one at 28yds but passed as she has a fawn and she was pretty scrawny. Sis take about 20 Prairie...

Thanks guys! I know this is an old thread been a busy year. I'm north side if pickaway county. I have done lots of door knocking and talking to farmers. All nice people but out if 30 or so only one gave permission. I'm game just to hut totes and groundhogs. Think I might hut up some cattle...

Hicks, I'm in the Columbus area. If your looking for a hunting partner for totes I'm in. I have my ecaller and my gear just no private land to hunt. Tired of waiting till march to take my center fire to public land. Plus public land at night can get dicey. Let me know if your interested.

Out west I know this is a huge thing. But here in ohio I'm having a hard time finding more info. Public hunting is a total waste and is getting scary in some places. So anyone have any info on open private land based on crp or other state/federal programs?

Saw a bunch in the summer and and since oct I have not seen another. That counts hunting and near the house.
