    Sportsmen's Input Needed

I have had weather completely destroy my hopes of a plot. Drought never stopped a corn pile.

anyone who argues bait and food plot are the same are always guys who dump corn. 100 % the case in my experience. It is legal. Go for if you need it. I have done it but have chosen not to for several years. I am beginning to believe that corn piles and predators are an issue. Bobcats and...

    Sportsmen's Input Needed

A food plot is available 24-7. Bait can be controlled and released at the time chosen by the hunter, dusk & dawn. Bait pile can bring a deer to stand within a couple feet of a designated area. I have had many deer in food plots or crop fields out of bow range. They are not the same...

    White Turkeys

I have a white turkey that my dad killed mounted in my cabin. First saw it as a polt. Killed him as a 2 year old gobbler. Beard was black, eyes were normal so it was not an albino. It was definitely 100% wild.

Help me with some orchard questions please....

You can buy rootstock for about $5 each. Learn to graft then start grafting your own. The advantage is you will know the characteristics of the root. Big box stores are grafted to mystery rootstock. I’ve been using M111 roots for my new orchard. I’d also add elderberry to your list. These...

    Flint arrow heads

I have a relative who is downsizing and has stuff to sell. I had these appraised because we had no idea of the value. The appraiser said on average a point is $5. So these would be in the neighborhood of $350 each. Asking $300 but willing to make a deal. I drive all over this state for my...

This state isn’t perfect but it’s pretty good. I would not make any major changes. I would open bobcat season. No closed season on coons. Ban baiting. No fall turkey until the population rebounds.

Marijuana cultivation for personal use, Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP)'s

If you can grow a tomato you can grow weed. If you can get clones it is better than seeds. At least that was the case back in college. Nowadays I hear things about feminized seeds but I don’t know how that works. I’m going back to the my youth this year and grow some.

I have met the enemy and they are us

Anyone who wants more turkeys should trap. I have found destroyed nest for the last 5-6 years straight. How many are destroyed that I don’t find? Most of the time it’s just broken eggs but sometimes there is a pile of feathers left. Dog proof traps right before nesting season and kill every...

    Hard to find bourbons...

This is the second annual bourbon raffle for Milford Band Boosters. If anyone on here wins, I’d be happy to drive some distance to deliver. I’m in Cincy so if you are in cleveland we would need to meet somewhere. https://rafflecreator.com/pages/68465/2024-milford-band-boosters-bourbon-raffle

What to make of this buck?

A buck will shed antlers early if he is in poor health. Wounds from cars or hunters can cause it or rut exhaustion. I’ve seen skinny bucks accidentally shot as a doe during muzzy season. They had no body fat and no antlers.
