I saw 10 last night. It rained on me twice. but then I had deer everywhere. Had a young buck chasing a doe everywhere, so by the weekend, hunting should be really good!

I have chewed for years and spit on the ground from the stand with no issues, I took a wiz out of my stand last sat about 10 mins before I shot my buck, he never even noticed. Wind was blowing right towards him too.

Stay at it! The rut isn't even at the peak yet!

Southern Clinton county Ohio here- Last three eve hunts for me have produced only small buck sightings, still looking for my first mature buck encounter. Back at it this eve. Next weeks temps are going to stink! warm!!!

I guess I'm different than most on here, I had this happen to me last winter, I had a huge 10 point at my bird feeder 15 yards from my garage window. Did i think about it? Yep! But IMO, that's not hunting to me.

Just remember if you do choose to plant the river birch, they need direct sunlight to thrive. They don't grow in shady areas.

I use a burning barrel, cost me 10 bucks, I use leaves from the yard to smoke myself and gear with, leaves are free! I used evercalm, years back and had bad luck. I don't use calls, cameras, deer pee, etc. This method works great for me and its very inexpensive!

The peak of the rut is over. As long as bucks have their antlers they will look for a doe that needs bred. About 20 to 30 percent of this past years fawns will come into estrous in December and January, so you never know when a Buck might show up! Stay at it!
