Had a jewelry filled weekend . We didn't slaughter the birds but we sent 14 to the big roost pond in the sky. Sunday the guy I was hunting with shot a band. Then Monday it was my turn to gather some jewelry. His was a banded last yr as a juvenile and mine was banded last yr as an adult.

After getting more and more frustrated about our lack of bands this yr we managed back to back bands on the last day of duck season on mallards. Mine was from Manitoba in 2007. The other was badly worn and will need to be treated with acid to raise the numbers.

Bad day for the birds!
